Thanks everyone for the concern about my health and my doggy's (especially hers!). We are 100% ok, just questioning our wilderness choices ;-)

So, heard today that the vehicle was deemed a total loss (as you all told me). The market value was determined to be $41k, just a bit less than the $42.5k (which was MSRP) that I paid TWO YEARS AGO. So, basically, it cost me $1500 to drive that beast for 2 years, $62.50/month.

Did something similar.. minor, but expensive damage.. but made me ok with pulling the trigger on some other mods.. not factory any more so go ahead and cut away.

Clearly she has kept up the life-insurance payments ... I would bet she negotiated a fairly lenient "death by misadventure" clause.

 

Just some friendly advice, but I was taught by the Forest Service to always face the danger in a situation like that.

 

That’s great advice, I appreciate it! I guess it was just instinct to place myself on the opposite side of the road from the cliff, but in hindsight it would make it much easier to see doing it your way. Thanks brother.

 

Yeah, I hear you. I was the same, then when the FS made me turn facing the cliff or whatever, I actually felt more in control.
