I actually have a rainwater cistern tank that I could have filled if shit really hits the fan. A lot of these older homes in my area have the same setup. People were eco-friendly before it was cool. Really nice for washing the vehicles and watering plants :rasta:

    Erm, what...

    HA :)

Didja know in some states collecting rainwater is illegal? Oregon certainly, but I think other areas also criminalized it. Their reasoning is the rain belongs to the community and to streams and whatnot, so storing up 100 gallons, etc, will kill all the fish or whatever. I don't buy it..but yeah.

That's bizarre and sounds like a left coast thing.

    I'm screwed though, I probly have a 1,000 or 2,000 gallon tank o_O

As you can see, around here there's plenty of rain water to go around for everybody and everything... and then some.

Good morning PA. It looks like it's wet all over. The weatherman just said we've received 3.71 inches so far in the Pittsburgh area with another 1 -1 1/2 coming between now and Friday. It looks like it's going to be a miserable day for the Pirates' home owner on Friday. Stay dry and safe.

Morning everybody! Having lots of flooding here in central PA - sump pumps around here must be at a pretty high duty cycle. Bunch of roads are closed. Thankful I live on a hill!

Anybody have water in their basement yet?

:rain: :pccoffee: :rain:  :rain: PA peeps/wannabes/raindrop dodgers. April sure is coming in in style! We're fortunate in that we only get water in the basement in the most dire of circumstances, which means we have one spot that has started to seep a wee bit. We're keeping an eye on things though because the rain isn't supposed to stop for another day. Ugh!

I am in western PA and I do, but I always have with the clay ground and no french drain. I have a sump pump and it is working hard.

Same , small trickle in basement and lower garage. Think I need a new dehumidifier. They don't seem to last very long for me. Maybe I'm impatient, but I don't think I hear the compressor running just the fan.

best of luck, leaking wall in the basement is the worst, hydraulic cement only works until the next higher leaking point develops, good luck!
