I have a pair of gussets to throw on some spindles but having trouble finding the spindles themselves. Has anyone had any experience with anything other than OEM spindles, or is that the only reliable way to go? If not is there a reccomended brand?

Not trying to cheap out and use low quality parts but all I’ve seen online for OEM take offs are $300+ just for one side which is a little stiff imo. Thanks for the input.

Usually I see them pop up used for around $200/pair. I know @Brownmatthall will have a set available as soon as we get his gusseted spindles on later this month.

When I totaled my last truck I used aftermarket spindles to send it away… if I was in your shoes I would hold out for oem take offs for a short time then just order some cheap ones and gusset them.

If @Brownmatthall is willing to part with his old spindles after he gets his gusseted ones, I can def wait for those! Hit me up if you decide to get rid of them!

I already have gusseted spindles on my truck, I just have an extra set of gussets that I want to put on some spindles for someone. Do you think the quality of aftermarket ones are concerning?

Got from RockAuto. Had it gusseted.

Hopefully new means known good. Used means unknown…

if a shop is welding on gussets they may or may not have a jig. Or how well the gusset lines up may tell them if they need to stop and call you.

    How are they holding up?

and yes that’s fair, was just trying to see if there was a general consensus on brands to steer clear from. I know there’s a few OEM or bust parts for our trucks and was curious if spindles were one of them.

this is what I got. I think the only way to know for sure is align it and see what numbers you’re able to get out of it.

At the time I think it was the only brand RockAuto had for a good price that claimed to fit 4x4 base.

if I get a spindle for ripoff price from junkyard I have no idea it’s history.

Quality was fine, especially if you’re going to gusset them anyhow.
