Please try to find a sense of humor. Your screen name is wasting time and you are wasting a lot of time test driving and reserving vehicles. It’s funny, like a big foam hat kind of funny. :D

I don’t commit what you say to memory but I think you have said you have test driven multiple 4 gens, have one hybrid on order, a ranger raptor on order and may have also driven another ranger? The dealers must love the tire kicking.

Also how would you know what I do or don’t say about the 4th gen if you have me on ignore? Weird.

What I think is wild that people are willing to pay $65k for a mid size truck. Now that’s wild!

Is it really that wild? Every category of car has gotten obscenely more expensive in the last decade. Late model 3rd gens started getting up there in price considering they were basically slightly upgraded 2nd gens. At least you are getting massive upgrades. Performance specs alone. Massive brakes, 465lb-ft torque, ability to run 35s, full size differentials. Then add all the luxury features. HUD, heated ventilated seats, etc. 65k isn’t much these days when it comes to cars unfortunately. People have been willing to drop that much on full size trucks for a while, and I’d wager most of them didn’t need the space, payload or towing capacity that class offers.

The truck market has been getting out of control for a while. I have been shopping for my retirement truck and it has been a pill to swallow. Looked at this 2500 last night.

If you're looking for your retirement truck you are going to have to add chrome to put on top of your chrome!

Source: My dad is 80 and has a Sierra 1500, loves his chrome.

I will probably have to go up to the Denali trim package. Technically I could go another 7-8 years on my current truck with ease. I just rolled 102k on my 8 year old truck.

I've been monitoring the refresh interior GM trucks and pricing. I think there is still value on a slightly used halfton compared to a new one at $6,000-8,000 off MSRP. I'm finding 2022 Denali diesel with 20-30k for $52-55k. Whereas a new one is still $64,000-70,000 depending on Ultimate Package, adaptive suspension. But what is crazy is the trim level price differences. AT4's are more than Denalis, High Country's are the cheapest on the market. Hell a Trail Boss LT is more than some High Country trucks. I found a 2024 Trail Boss LT MSRP of around $70,000 marked down to $55k last month but those deals are gone now.

If you have to spend 65K on a truck, this would be a better use of the 65K than on a midsize IMO

Seriously how is Toyota going to compete with the TRD Pro??? There are loaded TRD Sports hitting close to this price.

The "65K mid-size" you are talking about is a maxed out "exclusive/halo" vehicle vs a mid-grade full size/HD truck. If you don't plan on towing, want something that is easier to drive off-road (narrow trails), in-town (parking), fits in a garage, AND has all of the top of the line features - that would be a better use of your money.

Will they sell you one for that amount or will there be a 20k hidden ADM when you show up?

My Ferd dealer had a Bronco Raptor listed online for 95k but if you went there it was selling for 145k.

I don't know how Ford is able to price the Ranger Raptor so low. Well under not just the expected TH/Pro price but also the Colorado Bison. Toyota and Chevy will sell all of their TH/Pro/Bisons at or above MSRP. Ford is leaving money on the table.
