Maybe, maybe not, but if there's a hidden ADM, I'd walk. I am sure there's at least one dealer out there that will sell at MSRP.

I was right there with you, but I made the jump to a 1500 Denali and included a 10 yr. extended warranty. The dealership had a lifetime powertrain warranty so that made me feel a bit more comfortable. I'm aware of the lifter issues and carbon build up so plan on doing 3k oil changes and a top end clean every 10k. Fingers crossed I get half the reliability of my last Tacoma.

Absolutely not. The dude complaining on Reddit bought a Tacoma with a jacked up price. It was $67k with TTL. Still a crazy price.

I keep wondering if we’ll see a Trailhunter listed for $100,000.

    Certainly an atypical transaction number.

I wouldn't be surprised... i remember seeing a post where some dealer was selling a Rav4 Prime for $100k. Even if fully loaded Rav4 Prime, ridiculous amount to pay.

I’m not going to tell you what to do, but GM dealers are notorious for screwing you on the trade-in and making up all sorts of excuses for it.

You’re in Colorado, your current grandpa truck is probably going to sell really high as a private sale if there’s no history of hail damage.

When I lived in Monument and the Springs, I drove down to Texas for a better deal, so at least keep that in mind. Most of the big dealers in West Texas are pretty savvy about processing out of state sales paperwork and getting things over to the Colorado DMV pretty fast.

Full size truck prices had already been blowing up for a couple decades, but the expectation from most buyers was that sellers offer deep discounting. The supply chain/chip issues obviously altered that model, but incentives are now back on the menu.

Like a $46k Corolla(GR), Toyota asking $65k for a halo truck is their prerogative b/c similar to a Gladiator 392, relatively few will bother buying it anyway. So who should really care? Although… at $57k I’d take the Raptor all day, every day..

The real hurdle is when in 2024 you ask $45-50k for a volume seller like an SR5. So, just like full-sizers (Tundra), we should now expect future discounts before buying. But, if you still want to party like it’s 2022-23, feel free to blow your cash on mandatory predator steps…

If I'm spending that kind of money, putting in the work is worth it to me. There are 104 Raptors listed on cars.com for under $60k. If I were looking for one, I'd also be ok with waiting if they're not available for the price I want to pay.

I'll still end up with some sort of Tacoma, but man anyone considering a TH/Pro would be foolish not to consider the Raptor also.

Especially considering that you get an extra 6/10 of a liter in a Raptor.

    …and a front locker.

ETA: are the Raptors the trucks that are rusting out before they're even sold?

You could bet money that the MAX models have the 18-gallon tank.

The electric motor is between the engine and transmission, so it would upstream of whatever the hell is happening here^. Very doubtful that would change.

Why if the exhaust manifold is on the right, would the remaining pipe crossover to the left? Well, snickers because the gas tank is in the way!
And why exactly do we need the gas tank on the right, says snickers. If it wasn't there maybe we can have an actual normal sized gas tank on the left. Obviously, snickers is missing something as he doesn't have one to look at. Maybe someone can tell snickers.

I think people focus too much on the front locker. It's fairly easy to add an aftermarket front locker. I'd like to know if ford has made any other substantial upgrades on the ranger. We know for a fact that the TH and PRO are getting a stronger upgraded steering rack to handle larger tires. They also have the sway bar disconnect, and stronger CV axles (a weak point when lifting previous gens). The hybrids also have larger differentials and brakes than the raptor. These are all upgrades that would be incredibly costly to add aftermarket. I would gladly take those upgrades over a locker, and then add and ARB afterwards.

People are acting like it's an apples to apples comparison and judging the pricing based on that. But like you said, there is a lack of tech in the raptor. The TH and Pro essentially give you a lot of the features included on the limited trim along with the performance upgrades. Softer more luxurious seats, HUD, active noise cancellation, improved sound deadening, MTM, JBL premium, heated and ventilated seats. They are absolutely loaded with features that we haven't seen before in the midsize segment. On top of that the 4g is basically sharing the same frame as the new LC and tundra. We're getting a land-cruiser pickup basically. Just looking at the frame alone it's clearly heavier duty and more robust than any frame we've seen on a tacoma so far. People are still juggling price based on the third and 2nd gens, which are comparatively cheaper platforms.

Good tips. I rarely ever trade in a vehicle unless the math works out (tax savings/trade in value). In the last 20 years, I have only traded in one vehicle due to the math.

Dealerships/salesmen are professional thieves. I trust not one of them.

Why would they say "Coming Soon" if it's going to be the same?
