hey man.... dont be anything but positive on the B71/7200's! those are little work horse tractors. have had several & they are great little machines that just last forever.

not everyone has the use for a bigger machine. got my eye on a B8200 across the field from me right now.

Looks like the Reserve wasn't met, so the seller isn't required to let it go for that. I personally hate when auction put a reserve on whatever is being sold. If a seller has a min sale price they should just start the bidding at that min.

Don't I know it, that thing has saved my back many times:muscleflexing::headbang:. I just keep servicing it and fixing anything that is age related,or like now I blew a cylinder seal on the right lift arm. Sometimes I try to do too much weight with it.

For those of you who have used grader blades and/or box blades which do you prefer and why (or maybe both?)? It sounds like they both have their pro's and cons and I have been debating which makes more sense to look into. I have a 2wd L245 and we are prepping to break ground on 5 acres for our barndo build and am thinking of picking up one or the other in the next year for maintenance around the property once the build is complete. I live in an area that maybe sees a good snow that would require pushing 1-2 times a year on average, the rest are usually just a dusting that wouldn't require any pushing. The land is pretty flat and we are planning a gravel drive. I would mostly use it to prep for grass, keep the drive smoothed out, maybe some snow work when we do happen to get a bigger snow.

They both have their place. A box blade is great for doing work you want more level. A rear blade that swivels/pivots/etc. is awesome for driveways/ditches so you can move gravel or dirt whichever way you want it and also better for snow. A box blade in snow just gets full and starts rolling out the top and sides. You need both :anonymous:

If you can only afford one, I'd get the box blade. It's more expensive but the box blade is more universal and will do more than the grader blade can do. Most box blades have a front and rear blade so you can push snow in reverse with a box blade if you need to, or move a box full of dirt or gravel across an area to fill in low spots. But I also agree with @six5crèéd and @sdk1968 having both would be better, especially if you don't have a front loader. Plowing snow and grading with a box blade is more difficult than with a grader blade, though neither is impossible just more work. Eventually I'll buy a grader blade when I find a good used one for a fair price. There are also land levelers and planners you can look into if you just want to make an area flat, but they wouldn't be much use moving snow.

Neither one of those are going to do everything you mentioned. For dirt work and Seed bed prep you'll be best served by something along these lines.

I usually put stuff in the bucket or on the implement and use bungee straps to hold it down.

I've been wanting to build something for a long time, but haven't got the materials to do it yet. I thought about buying this one from ask tractor Mike, but it's rather expensive. I put it on my Christmas list for the past few years, but I didn't get any takers.

PS Mike has a lot of good videos for the novice to help with the tractor learning curve.
