Not sure they'll be able to prove he actually started early. It certainly looks like it but I imagine telemetry data would be a bit delayed. I'm sure they don't plan to do anything more than a verbal warning to the field, at most.

Denis jumped that start. The rule book is simple. Maintain speed to the line and you have the right to fire anywhere in the box. If you don’t the flag man starts the race at the 2nd line. No different than advancing before the line. NASCAR should have DQ’ed the 11.
In this case it would have gifted the race to the 22. Martin got screwed and used up by the 11 and that’s why he was hot.

Did anyone watch the Race Sat. Joey and Brad were calling the race and something came up about someone being bald or still having hair and Mike and Brad were laughing and Joey was silent. You know what everyone was thinking. LOL
It’s sad that Joey and Brad are way better announcers than Boyer and Harvick. I thought Harvick would be good but he is wound up to tight in the booth. Being in a studio watching a screen opposed to letting them watch the track is fucking these announcers also.

I am not a fan of Joey but he is pretty good in the booth. Harvick was a lot better in the booth as a guest. Now that he does it fulltime he is wound to tight. To much coaching I suspect. Just let him do what comes natural. Clint is a nice guy but not good in that role. He is insecure and it shows.

If they would Clint be Clint I think it would be more entertaining. Good, bad or indifferent that dude has some stories. Let Mike spit facts and reminisce about shit that happened before we were born but let the other guys talk about their good ol days until the next HOF retiree comes aboard and have a fresh voice. Just wait until the day Chase Elliot and Ryan Blaney are announcing a mile and a half race. That’s going to be good for a 3hr Sunday nap:rofl:

I can’t wait until Truex jumps one for a win and in his post race interview at the start finish line say something like Ya I jumped the start but we all know that there’s nothing they can fucken do about it.

I get the perspective but more have been penalized for laying back than jumping the start. The 11 should have been called. NASCAR has the telemetry for each car so they can’t hide it.
The argument that those guys were laying back is irrelevant because Denis jumped. They were not at the line so no one can say what they were doing. Same shit when the 9 got turned in the PIR race for the championship by the 1 a couple years back when the 1 went left before the start finish and they didn’t call it. The 22 has been laying back forever. Black flag him if he does it.

I thought it was an interesting perspective. I agree it is supposed to be black and white though. The leader already has an advantage considering they technically control the restart and are supposed to be first to the line so everyone else has to find a way to try and compete. This isn't Indy where the leader starts the green flag whenever he feels like it with 1 caution lap to go.

But I don't expect Kyle Busch to have to deal directly with that any time soon considering he'll likely be driving another tractor to a 25th place finish this weekend since it is Martinsville.

The issue here is that NASCAR by not throwing a black flag at the 11 just told everyone else that it is fair game to jump the start if in the lead. Drivers are smart enough to only do it on green white checkers and what is NASCAR going to do? The teams will exploit it until someone gets screwed. Denny could have slowed the field before entering the box if he wanted to. After the line he can do whatever he wants. Saying, fuck it. I will just go now is not an excuse because you thought the other drivers were going to lay back. NASCAR needs to enforce it just as it is in the rulebook. Flag Denny for the start, flag the 22 for laying back. Hell, flag them all the way back to the 9 so that POS can win a race! LOL...
Kyle has nothing to lose by supporting this call. If he is lucky enough to get his dump truck up front at the end of a race he can now exploit this. Kyle is probably the best restarter in the game and Denny is pretty good at it himself. The 22, all the veterans normally are solid at restarts. Though, Gordon is probably the best of all time with JJ pretty close behind.

I am not going to go as far as saying its scripted or anything but I would agree that they have a preferred outcome. I think 2 races were scripted in that NASCAR told the team the car would not be inspected and to do whatever they wanted. That is the July Daytona win that Jr. had in 2001. That car was able to pull out and pass by itself. The 2nd is when Jr drove the #3 Wrangler car. That car was also incredibly strong and appeared to have 100 more HP than those around it.
