    Hey guys,

Looking for a replacement transmission mount ('01, M/T, V6, 4x4) and it appears the part (12371-07020) has been discontinued. Been digging through aftermarket options but they all specify either "WITH INTERLOCK" or "WITHOUT INTERLOCK".

Probably a dumb question... but what does that mean on a manual trans? Like whether I need to depress the clutch to start the engine?

i.e. this one specifies without interlock:

    Cheers!

    x2 on this suggestion ^^^^

Honestly one of the best upgrades you can make to these trucks if you ask me. Super beefy part, the parts store mounts you're looking at all suck

Good deal. Install is pretty easy. I found it easiest to loosely attach the mount to the crossmember with the 4 small bolts first, then get the crossmember in place with the crossmember bolts, and lastly bolt the mount to the trans. Some crows foot 14mm flat adapters are very helpful for getting the trans bolts torqued. There is a Timmy Toolman YouTube tutorial if you need it.
    • TORQUE SPECS
    • Transmission Mount to Crossmember Bolts: 13ft/lb
    • Transmission Mount to Transmission Bolts: 48 ft/ lb
    • Crossmember #3 Bolts: 53 ft/lb

Sounds like a good method. Thanks for the advice & for dropping in the torque specs!

Will this increase the road noise in the truck or stiffen up the ride at all?

Doesn’t increase road noise really, but you will feel more of the road in the cab. I’ve noticed more vibration at low speed, but nothing at regular driving speeds.

Totally agree with @Tuluk. I noticed more vibration at idle too, like alot more, but it really firms up the ride in a very desirable way in my opinion. I also did new OEM motor mounts about a week prior to installing this trans mount, so I'm sure that also helped the whole driveline just feel more solid.

I just installed a Marlin Crawler short shift kit this past weekend and I can hear the gear whine a lot more now than before. Nothing crazy, but it's definitely more than before. Love the kit though! Shifts soo much better now. I was just wondering if I keep "improving" all the connection points/bushings how much more I would notice it inside of the cab and the seat of my pants.

You'll notice it a lot. I've done the following to my truck in 3 years of ownership:

    - New Steering Rack
    - New OTREs
    - New Rear Wheel Bearings/Axle Seals
    - New Alcan Leaf Springs with Poly Bushings
    - New Bilstein 5100s w/ Toytec Lift Coils
    - New Upper and Lower Ball Joints
    - New Upper and Lower Control Arm Bushings
    - New Sway Bar End Links
    - New Sway Bar Bushings
    - New Front Diff Mount Bushings
    - New CVJ CV axles
    - New KO2s
    - New 4xinnovations Trans Mount
    - New Austin Clutch Kit
    - New OEM Motor Mounts
    - New Rear Brake Shoes, Drums, & Hardware

My truck rides so much better than when I first bought it. Many will say their old truck drives like a new truck, but mine (with 290k miles) really does.

Awesome trans mount and build quality, only thing is it was too much vibration for my stock Taco so I managed to get an oe mount before they were discontinued.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
I will add I have about 150,000 miles on the one I installed.

I noticed more vibration at idle in a few thousand miles it was just normal.
