OCT 2023 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x2 - Lake O' The Pines ~150 miles East of Dallas, TX.

 

Went camping at lake Jennings with the kids for spring break. They spend most of the time playing in the truck!

Spent a great night there.

 

Great photos and experience while camping. It was still pretty cool to see from the front yard but I would have preferred to be somewhere out in the wild to witness it.

 

Camped outside Sequoia NP in Three Rivers,CA for the past week. Camp is at 850ft, snow at 3500-7000ft in the park. Experienced downpours and 40degrees, followed by sunny and 80 degrees the following day, then back to rain and sleet.

 

What campground is the photo with the fence and deer grazing? (3 Rivers? What campground?)

 

“Three Rivers Hideaway”- they aren’t as tech savvy as most business’, but they do have a basic website. Reservations are made over the phone, card is only charged when you arrive on site too. Paid $40 a night for “tent” camping(no hookups), hot showers/restrooms/laundry on site. People live on site fulltime(older singlewides at front of property), and they have quite a few “full hookup” sites. We had the tent camping area(directly on river) all to ourselves(8 sites total). Had deer/raccoons/bobcats in camp a few times, they would drink from the river in camp. The campground has a “swimming hole” that branches from the main fork of the Kaweah river, it was a perfect spot for families and all to explore. The staff was amazing too, very welcoming and even checked if we needed blankets/jackets due to the downpour/sleet one day. “Sequoia Adventures” is their whitewater rafting company, and they operate directly out of the campground(beige tents in photo), we had a great time on the river.

Nice set up and venue. I'm also in the PNW. What flaps are you running? I have similar spec setup and wouldn't mind adding flaps if they don't rub or get torn off with 285/75/17.
