    Hello all!

First post so don't flame me too hard. Based upon what I've read so far it looks like most are happy with the desert does it seat jackers. But, how do they compare with the yotatv version? They are about half the price. I know there are ~$20 versions on ebay, but I don't want to cheap out TOO much. Thanks for any information you can provide!

Just a recommendation, go with the company who designed and developed them. They have all of the time and money into the r&d and have better support. Plus, it wouldn't exist as a product if DDI didn't do the legwork (no pun intended).

I'm all for supporting the developer of a product. But there is a time you have to be money smart. I bought same product on ebay for under half both pairs for $65, vs one pair for $99 Compared them both with someone whom spent more. No true difference.

Because they took the design and copied it, and mass produced it overseas.

    It's pretty obvious.

    It's a moral thing

I don’t like my seatjackers. I bought them as soon as I got my truck because I read a few threads about how much everyone likes them. I gave em a few months and came to the conclusion that they push my thighs up too close to the steering wheel.

I have just accepted the weird seating position and now I don’t notice it anymore.

Love my seat jackets (DD). It's a lot more comfortable on the legs, and u feel like you're riding in a truck and not a Corolla.

There millions of things that are claimed to be made American and are outsourced to China and other foreign countries. I know countless products. So you can't believe what you read in advertising. The big 3 have numerous along with HD. Your Tacoma for one. So how can say buy American...lol

The DD guys put the time into developing it and marketing it. Some crooks come in and completely rip them off. I don't support crooks.....

I’m confused why you guys are talking about products on the shelf at Walmart when the discussion is about a small business that designed/manufactures a niche product sold in hundreds not tens of thousands
Guilty conscience justification or is there an accusation being lobbed at DDI?

I was patient and waited for some used ones to pop up in the buy / sell / trade forums. Best of both worlds: genuine article at the knock-off price.

Should add, buying knockoffs takes food off the plate of people that innovate to bring great products to us. If you go with the ripoffs you are only hurting the small industry and people that put the time into it. At some point it drives people from wanting to innovate.

I feel like I'm caught right in the middle of all of this myself. I really do like DDI products and I have a set of seat jackers in my Tacoma too and I'm going to buy a under seat air compressor rig from them here shortly as well. The issue I see mostly is the high markup on the smaller items like the seat jackers & molle panels, I really did want to support businesses here too but when a set of front seat jackers costs $200, molle panel for another $108, and set of rear seat jackers for another $100 when you can get the knock off no brand options for probably ~$200 including everything I listed jackers/panels is insane. I don't mind paying a bit of a premium over the knock offs/copy cats but there is a point where the price becomes prohibitive.

I went with the OG desert does it because they designed, engineered and developed it. I trust that my seat bolts won’t shear in a collision with their product.
