Insurance from fire doesn't make you whole, it just gives you the means to start over.

Speaking of insurance, for those of us that do have tractors. Do you have a tractor insurance policy? If so, with whom?

I was wondering the same thing. Dealer that I looked at the Kioti said insurance is usually $25-30 a month. Me knowing nothing had no clue if that was true.

If I recall correctly it was a add-on to our homeowners.

I don't have a separate policy for any of mine. When we got insurance on the new place, we had the shop added to our policy and the guy told me if something happened what it would pay. Not sure if it would cover full replacement for everything I have in there or not, I hope to never find out.

Yeah my home owners cover it like @six5crèéd said not sure it would cover full replacement but it's something.
So here's my story: when we moved out to the country we had the good neighbor. But they don't cover farmso_O it's in your name. So the search begins! North Carolina Farm Bureau pops up. Yeah we do farms:101010: and that's when we asked about the shop, field, dogs.:oldglory:

Yes. We called usaa (who insures everything else for us), and they set us up with a policy from Traveler's. Covers the tractor anywhere, not just at home.

Maine weather. Yuck. Power out. Generac Generator won’t start. Appears to be getting fuel. It will turn over and “catch” for a split second but does run. It has been stored outside but covered. Last started a couple months ago. Yeah, I know. Should have started it once a week. Suggestions? And I have no internet and just slow cell service.

Got any ether? Probably just the carb. My old wood splitter is the same way, give it a sniff and it'll crank most of the time.

Drain a cup of water out of the bowl.

I'm betting it's got water sitting at the low point.

If you look on the bottom of the carb, there is a nut/screw holding the bowl on, possibly with a wire going to it depending on what engine it is. Unscrew it and gas will flow out. You don't have to take the bowl completely off but it may fall off. Just drain, reinstall nut/screw and try to start it again.

You can use carburetor cleaner as an either substitute.

The carburetor should look similar to and be oriented as in the photo below.

At the bottom there might be a spring loaded drain as pictured, you just push up on the spring and the bowl will drain - unfortunately most modern equipment doesn't have those anymore.

Right dead center on the bottom of the bowl there should be a nut or bolt, the one pictured below also has an adjustable screw - don't mess with it if you have one.

Remove the center nut and gently pull the bowl down, there is a gasket or two so be careful.
Dump it out and wipe it clean with a rag and reinstall.

    Bolt drain style:
You would only need to remove the Phillips head screw to drain this type.
