Exhaust tip options?

Just ordered a few things for the 4 banger taco truck to make it evolve from being a slow boring looking daily to a slow good looking daily. The only thing that’s holding it back from being complete is the exhaust tip. Do you guys know any exhaust tips that I can just insert and clamp it on without welding?

 

Oem tips are nice, clamp on with a acu-seal clamp and has 2 pieces that go inside the end of the tip to keep it from sliding off once clamped on. They have black or chrome.

 

I’ll definitely take a look at them. The black will look more sleek honestly.

That’s what I did, I painted my exhaust with high heat black before installing the tip.

 

Flowmaster makes some nice ones. Here's one I put on my truck. Clamp didn't work cuz of the way they bent the pipe so I self taped it on

TRD catback has a better tip. That people including myself cut off with a cheap tool for clearance so it is hidden facing down. Not sticking out dragging.

not cutting the pipe would mean it sticking out a mile away.
Matter of time. Hopefully whoever hits it is in a parking lot with you not in the vehicle to experience impact.

 

Cut it off where it drops over the axle and poof, very 'sleek'.

Steel bumper sounds nice but not looking for clearance and not really necessary for me. Since my 2012 is a prerunner it’s not going to see a lot of dirt other than my family’s ranch.

Plus I’m not a fan of the turn down sort of exhaust.

 

that’s up to you. Don’t know if the truck is a DD on the road or not. If it is, steel protection is nice and high likelihood to be bumped.
Walk out to the truck in the morning see someone bumped it didn’t leave a note, dented where it wasn’t the day before.

harbor freight sells an exhaust cutter or borrow one.

tips can be bolt on or may be cheap to have shop weld on. Whatever tip you want. TRD catback one is oval chrome. Black might look better.

 

Yeah the truck is my daily, I’m gonna have to give it some thought on the bumper. I just dropped a fat load of money on a set of 31 inch tires and rims so I gotta give my wallet a bit of rest.

 

I have an extra oem laying around somewhere, lemme see if I can round it up. If you were anywhere close to Houston I would give ya my Gibson catback that came with a tip welded on....need it out of attic, lol. What about a used LCE header that I had exhaust shop fix? The nugget between the 4 tubes at collector had issue so they welded it up...just stayed oem so it's layin in attic too.

 

I appreciate the offer but I’m in Los Angeles lol. Headers though?? I haven’t really thought about that, seeing as it probably won’t do much for the 4 cylinders.

 

No one can even see it when done. You know it doesn't exit the body or bumper, right?

And the only tool needed is a hacksaw with a fresh blade. Something every man should own anyway......
