Pretty sure @tacotunner06 is right. Would have been nice to get some of the replacement part numbers for some of this stuff.

I don't really follow this thread closely so I didn't see this until now, but the truck in that IG pic is mine! The modified coil bucket top was to raise the coilover up 2 inches to clear the tie rod. Since I was putting 37's on my truck, they moved the LCA's full forward in the pivot kit, and with the JD Fab tie rod ends, the coilover was slightly rubbing on the tie rod.

The truck in question is mine, the stock inner fenders were already cut out when they did that new coil bucket top, but it sits pretty damn close to the JD Fab inner fenders, so I don't see any way it would work with the stock inner fenders.

35 sometimes hits factory tub at compression uptravel

anyone fix this? Am thinking of trying Icon 1/4” bump stop spacers that claim to resolve this
    IMG_4396.jpg IMG_4397.jpg

they also have a bigger one. Hopefully 1/4 works. They’re cheap.
Looks like it would still leave enough room for bump stop to thread in.

All you'd need is longer bolts for more spacers. But, its part of trying to fit 35s. They start to hit places, also quite a few of us are running JD inners or guys are just caged.

If you need to sacrifice travel for tires I’d just go to a tire that doesn’t force sacrifice. Otherwise, tub it.

Or space the cab up. Not ideal, but if it's just a little rub...

I would never sacrifice travel personally. Usually we tub for that extra inch of travel. You can also hit it a bunch with a sledge hammer and you can make enough space that way, but it's not very good looking, and can start cracking in other areas

This is the official/unofficial JD Fab thread, right?

On their LT kit, they kept a standard vertical ball joint orientation on the UCA/spindle junction, but I've seen other kits using a horizontal orientation.

I'm assuming the main reason against the stronger double shear setup is because it would prevent using a standard spindle, or is there a different reason?

Just price. a full fab spindle is definitely the way to go for max strength and travel, but it's much more expensive, most people wouldn't spend the money.

I mean you have a point.
Going to ask what my bump stop supplier recommends and maybe try 1/4 either way and see what happens.

I expect it to be less of a problem when I get done making sure the lift height is set right, as well as correct springs and springrate. Now that 1.25” spacers on to move the tire out a bit.

But mainly crawl. Where downtravel seems more important than uptravel.
It’s only at the very end of uptravel it does it. I can see that being more of a problem if it was doing jumps and desert pre running.

I don’t know if it becomes more of a concern with LT, and if LT allows for more up travel.

bump stop spacers would just be a quick cheap easy temporary bandaid fix attempt.
JD Inner Fenders would probably be the best actual fix.
Don’t know if they’re compatible with ARB clone snorkel or absolutely require changing intake system.

    It does.

You don't need to require a change to the intake but you'd need some modifications for a snorkel. In my install the JD guys just cut out the bottom of the intake box so it sucks right from there instead of out the fender.

I pinged Jesse over at JDFab for everyone still waiting on the release of the Tacoma bedside cubbies posted earlier in this thread.

    His response:

"They should be ready in a couple weeks. We have everything here just need to weld them up and powder coat them and yes you can install them without removing the bed side. "

For those waiting: I'm super happy with mine. I've gotten some (small) air and hit whoops at >50 since having them installed and they're rock solid.

This is what they look with the bedside on from the wheel well. You can see there's a pretty beefy support arm that attaches to the frame.

My truck is still up at JD Fab and they are going to install the bedside cubby for the battery relocation next week. The parts got delayed getting back to JD and Jesse told me the are out at powder coat right now.

Did you relocate the battery to the new bow?
