^I wouldn't be surprised if the CJ hood and grille bolt right in.

On another note, remember when you could buy road-legal new Jeeps for the $30k this thing is selling for? Good times...

We moved here from out of state with a collection of Honda, Subaru and VW. Close to town, but still rural. The neighbors finally decided I was worth talking to after I drug an OBS Ford home a couple years later to fix up and tinker with. And it seems to have largely stopped after buying the Tacoma and then selling the Ford this last summer.

I genuinely wish I was kidding, or talking about decades ago, but…

I grew up in Detroit, public schools and all. Guy across the street worked for GM, next door neighbor worked for Ford, 2 doors down from him work for Chrysler. Employees get pretty good discount deals. I was a rebel, I had an International Scout.

Yep. They had 4 banger 4x4 wrangler MTs for 24k. AC was an option.

Before I got my Tacoma I stopped in to check out the Canyons. Guy was working up a price for me and seemed flabbergasted that I had no way to squeak out a tie to GM to get that sweet, sweet discount option. I don’t work there, nor for a supplier, nor do any of my immediate or even distant relatives. I never really thought of myself as special, but maybe this is something I can cling to here? Unaffiliated status?

Scouts are sweet though! I am all set to indirectly inherit an absolute basketcase one day. Curious what the new one will be like, although it will be weird it’s a VW (which is enough that even if I had the half million dollars they’ll cost, I probably wouldn’t want to..).

Have you guys seen one of these? Hennessy Velociraptor Bronco. I never knew they existed until I was driving next to one this morning. Pretty crazy looking and 500 hp.

Lost me with that wheel/tire combo. Needs way more sidewall.

It looks like you could fit much bigger tires on it than that.

Still... the wheels look huge, and I'm not a fan of the "I have silver-colored nuts sticking off the face of my black wheel just for cosmetics" look.

“It takes a lot of time and money to look this cheap” -Dolly Parton.

    :D

Not crazy about the wheels/poke on this, but like what Advanced Fiberglass is doing with the flares. That black Bushwacker oversized style looks cheap and redneck.

I’m not a fan of the giant shiny black fender flares either. I don’t like them on the new TRD Pro too. It reminds me of the 90’s and people putting Bushwacker pocket flares on everything.

Yeah it is terrible and looks cheap. New Tacoma TRD Pro/Trail Hunter are awful looking.

The Ranger Raptor looks pretty good even with its small black flares. I would still prefer them to be color matched to the body. That seems like the top contender in the midsize truck category.

Someone near me has a Bronco Raptor - I think they’re even more hideous in person. I can’t believe that is something that came from an OEM, it’s so awkwardly hideous…and tacky…

Now GM? It would fit their lineup perfectly. :anonymous:

I am not a fan of halo vehicles, expensive and kinda useless at everything, even hardcore wheeling. They mainly for looking cool (or not depending on one’s opinion)

A stock tow pig (whatever that may be) trailering a purpose built full tilt boogey race rig is more up my alley.

Now that it has been revealed that the new new 4Runner and the new LandCruiser are essentially the same vehicle just with different bodies which would you choose? I’m assuming the lower trim LC will be around the same price as the higher trim 4R.
