If you want new there are lots of options. A.R.E., Leer or really any of the large manufacturers are worth a look. GFC and others make pop-up wedge versions as well, if that might be your thing.

If you want a used one, that isn't an easy question to answer. Many brands made models for the early Tacomas over the years, it's basically a scavenger hunt to find one you like that fits the 6ft bed. Craigslist, Marketplace, the for sale section on here, etc.

If you're looking for a standard shell (not a pop up camper), ARE, Leer, and Snugtop all have build configurators on their website, but selection is very limited to pretty much one or two basic models since the platform is over 20 years old. For used ones on offerup/marketplace, listings will usually say what make/model the shell came off of; if not, ask. I was lucky enough to find mine on the classified section right here on TW after looking at all sorts on online classified for a few months, but it was about 500 miles away so I made a weekend road trip out of it.

I had a high top leer for many years and it worked great, looked good and no leaks. It shouldn’t be that expensive anymore either with the age of our trucks.

check out one of the used camper shell independent shops around you. I bet there are a few.

IMG_6821.jpg I found mine on facebook marketplace. They show up every now and then in my area. But if you are patient you will find something. What i did to snag min for cheap was inspect for leaks. You can bargain the price a bit because essentially you can tell the seller that the seals are bad and will have the be replaced. Which for me it was the case and was able to snag mine for $400 with keys and matching color.

    Where are you located?

Which cab do you have (standard or extra)?

Are you looking for a specific color?

Been looking everywhere for one. Wish I could comment on for sale ads here on the forum, but I have to have some number of posts first, unfortunately.
