Hoping for some help on installing a new bumper. it seems these alumimum bumpers are common but they dont come with the side struts or bottom struts that are used to help hold the molding on. They appear like rivets. Can anyone confirm that you basically just drill these out and re-rivet them onto the new bumper??

i thought this would be a difficult thing to get feedback on, a related question is does anyone recognize these blue tabs as holding on the front bumper cover? teenager hit a pole and trying to figure out how everything goes back together.
    thanks for the help

one more shot, if anyone has had to replace the front aluminum bumper you will have ran into this. There are two metal struts off the back and one off each side that seems to be riveted on? since you cant buy the bumper with these pieces there must be a way to move them over and i would imagine its a steel rivet from the appearance. Has anyone any experience with this? i will post some photos shortly

If the truck in your picture is the one you're looking for help on you should re-post this question in the 1st gen section for more traction. Also more pictures are always better than fewer when looking for help/answers.

Can someone help me identify these rivets? it appears to be a nearly 1/4 inch hole... so maybe 6 mm or so. the new bumper came with the holes but nothing else. have not been able to identify a replacement rivet. any help appreciated. someone has ran into this before... the side ones i could replace with bolts, but the two on the back struts that are not shown are blind access so need to come up with a rivet solution.

Do you have access for a nut and bolt; sometimes we focus too much on what is in front of our eyes and don't see the other possibilities. Drill out the rivets and see what you have to work with.

I have that same part stored with the steel attached to the aluminum bumper, but not where I am at.

I have taken the whole bumper apart and it is a PIA.

Edit: Sorry somehow I did not see this "... the side ones i could replace with bolts, but the two on the back struts that are not shown are blind access so need to come up with a rivet solution."
