I changed the engine oil myself at 5k. I bought six filters, so I am good for DIY for a while.

it is the droning. it might be my rear diff, it might be my transmission. but this is the droningest sounding vehicle I have ever had. at slow speed it undulates in sound, at higher speeds it just kinda whines. hums.

so, I elected to let them do the 10k oil change and just look it over to see if the noise is "normal". not really worried, because of the warranty.

I still drive my 2006 and that thing is whisper quiet. :D

I hear a little bit of drone out of my 23 trail under certain conditions, very minor.

That droning would drive me crazy. My 2014 is quiet and smooth. My daughter's 2020 is quiet and smooth as well. I'd keep going back, if nothing else, to get a record of it being a known problem if and when something finally does break.
Although, I hate going to the dealer for anything.

I own a 2023 TRD OFF-ROAD with 7,600 miles. I've also been noticing a slight Rear Differential howl which started when it was new. I took it to the dealer Monday and they are going to be rebuilding my Rear Diff as soon as the parts arrive.

Hope that helps. For me it’s a harmonic resonance transferred from the diff into the chassis causing the sound at between 50-55mph. A new diff may or may not change that. I had a 700lb load in the bed recently and that calmed it down a lot of course.

When I go in for my 10k I’ll complain and see what the foam and body mounts do. I hear not much, but I’ll try to update afterwards.

You can have them look at it but having them change your oil? Are you looking for a new type of noise when they crack filter cap overtightening, leave oil cap off after filling, missing or incorrectly installed OH-Ring, etc...

I would NEVER let the dealer do an oil change on my vehicles. Just wondering. :)

I’m aware, but at least mine is somewhat competent. I change my own oil, but it’s already there and I’m not paranoid because I know how to properly inspect before driving away. I also need parts and filters while there.

My dealership has never effed up an oil change on the rare occasion they handle it. One time I was in Idaho elk hunting and I needed some stuff done.
