Every truck is rare because no two are the same. Rare doesn't make it more valuable. If you get a color that has limited allocation, it doesn't add value. It actually deceases it. I don't know if Toyota releases the percentages, but year ago when I had access it was something like 25% Black, 25% White, 25% Grey, 10% blue, 10% red, and 5% for the other 4 colors. Black, grey, and white are always going to be the dominate colors. As the saying goes 'because they didn't make a lot of them, doesn't make them rare. They are rare because no one wanted them'.

I also don’t agree the dominant colors fetch a better price or even same price long term. Toyota knows it’s a safer sale as they are neutral colors. It’s like saying a basic Pokémon playing card that is in every pack is worth the same as a rare holo card. (Yes I grew up in the 90s) lol

LR DCLB checking in. LR SB is pretty common over here in the bay area but the long bed; I've seen a handful of times. Never seen an access cab now that I think about it but doublecab tacos are dime a dozen out here. it's pretty much a camry pick up truck. Personally, I love the color and honestly short beds look weird to me now after owning my 23 for over a year and a half. I like to sleep in the back of my truck over a tent if I'm solo, just so cozy and convenient. Can't do that as nicely with a 5 footer.

The Tacoma is the best selling mid size truck in the world. No trims are “rare”

Long bed best bed. If you're going to mount a crew served weapon to fight a war in the desert, you need the extra couple feet for drink holders.

It's one foot. Short beds look better. Long beds look weird. I've never needed the extra foot for my needs. To each their own.

Eye of the beholder. Short beds look like family trucksters to me. Something for those reluctant to buy a minivan. Hard to imagine my career driving a family vehicle when what I needed was a working one. The day I no longer need one it could still serve as a casket.

I didn’t make a “but” statement like you did. Thanks for your opinion on this forum though. You’re entitled to your opinion :)

That's why I wrote to each their own. I didn't need a working truck. If I did I wouldn't buy a Tacoma. I do tow a camper and I get 200 more lbs towing capacity with the short bed as opposed to the trail limo.

I loved my short bed. And sometimes the looks of my 2019 OR is still my favorite. Just needed more bed space for the fam

Like when someone makes a statement saying whatever they want and then follow with “but” or “to each their own” to make it seem like they don’t have a strong opinion. Which we already knew you did.
