Aftermarket horn recommendations?

I am considering replacing the factory horn. I want one that is a little louder, and doesn't sound like a scooter horn. I don't need a HornBlasters-style train horn. Just something a step up from the stock farter. I know the Hella Supertones are popular, but I am not a fan of the tone (sounds like an econobox/ricer horn to me). I was looking at the Denali SoundBomb Original and SoundBomb Mini, and the Hella twin trumpets. Has anyone replaced their stock horn with something that sounds like it belongs on a truck?

i'm running only the air horn on my car right now, and find it too high pitched by itself. suits a car, and definitely still gets attention

I've ordered a similar air horn from Amazon. Now I am looking for a replacement for the stock horn. The Hella Supertone isn't the sound I am going for, but I appreciate the input!

I've already ordered a trumpet-style horn with a mini compressor. I had one in a Mini Cooper, and it was awesome. No one expected that kind of noise from a tiny car

Would probably have two horns. That and stock. Don’t need alarm tripping train horns.

train horns may be only warranted sometimes.

like Riverside. Pulling a trailer. Wide open highway car jumps a foot in front of your bumper for no reason thinking the brakes are 360mm and total weight 3k lbs which is not.

 

Yeah, that is what I am going after. I'm looking for a more truck-like "regular" horn for mundane usage, and also installing a trumpet-style horn + mini compressor for the clowns on the road.

 

It is arguably justified to have OBA/onboard air such as compressor and possibly tank. can run a tool. Air up tires. Pressurize your water. Operate air lockers. Who knows what else.

that could power train horns.

I imagine behind grill pointed down would be better than under spare tire delete due to hammer hangers cross tube.

 

I am not quite at that level. My off-roading adventures are very tame compared to many around here. I don't even have underbody armor. But if/when I get into serious wheeling, I will definitely put a tank on my to-do list

 

most of the characteristic sound of the supertone is in the high frequency part. it doesn't sound at all like you're thinking.

i forgot to mention earlier, i also have a variant of that denali 'sound bomb' horn as well, installed on my rolling tool box.

while it's great for a laugh, and the compactness was important for me to fit it onto the box, it sounds every bit like a cheap air horn. the yaetek or similar has a deeper 'thrum' to it that makes for a little more authority without the autozone tone. and combined with the supertone low-tone horn, it's gets closer to the train horn tone without the expense or hassle.

 

If you could find the sound effect when he is charging is atomic breath your tesla would be the finest one on earth.
