When I got my truck (used), it came with a camper shell, which I took off. I later put it back on. Most useful mod ever.

 

Pyrite Mica is such an awesome color, i could agree more though. Love my topper!

 

which one did you go with?

 

built my own, just followed "pask makes" youtube build for the most part. Since then i've made some adjustments. Shortened up one of the drawers and made a cubby for my 100ah LiPo battery, battery charger, etc

works darn good. I DD my truck and use the bed all the time, which informs a lot of how i mod the truck

 

The tailgate lock and the headlight bulb mod. The two that get used the most, but can be under appreciated until you don’t have them fir awhile.

 

I love my tailgate lock. Between it, and my camper shell lock, I feel like stuff is pretty secure in the back

 

Independent fog light use on the stalk!!

The TRD short throw shifter for my 6M trans because I get to use it multiple times every trip. A close second is the TRD intake and cat back exhaust sound I get with every take off.

I like having the tailgate lock. My pickup is in the shop. My rental Tacoma doesn’t have the tailgate lock. It’s so annoying when I have to lock or unlock it manually each time.

 

Upgrading the leaf springs on my second gen has been the most useful mod for overall use and function. I went with medium duty Dobinsons. Significantly better than stock and the ride is decent unloaded.

I’m not a serious off roader but the stock springs are woefully inadequate for even moderately heavy loads, and the stock shocks bottom and fail. I am running Elka IFPs and no complaints so far. Better performance hands down for loads and off-roading. The new leaf springs are still fairly quiet and may still settle a bit lower.
