Spend 20$ and get the obd2 Carista and get the app and all your beeping annoyances will melt away in less than five minutes of effort

so you don’t have to rip it out? You can just like pop the top off and remove some internal bit of the little speaker?

"This was my worst beep which I have eliminated by disabling the switch within the seatbelt buckle latch." quote
Can you explain how to do this? Pics would be great too. Thanks.

Yes, no hacks, no ripping, no damage, no work that cannot be easily reversed.

At 4:28 in the video linked above you can see the bottom of the buzzer. There are six segments around the outside of the buzzer that latch onto the flat bottom of the buzzer. I used a flat bladed screwdriver that was wider than the distance between the buzzer bottom and the printed circuit board to pry two adjacent segments outward and the top cover separated from the bottom.

Inside there is a flat disk that you might want to mark as to which direction is up - I did not pay any attention at the time of my disassembly and I do not know if it matters at all, as upon reassembly of the buzzer it worked just fine. May have been 50/50 lucky or the direction of the buzzer does not matter, really do not know. Just a suggestion to eliminate any problems.

Reassembly: just put the disk back in and snap on the cover.

I put my buzzer back together because I did not want to be one of those whom are always driving down the road with my blinker on. Also, like someone mentioned it is just a comforting sound to me, most all the other sounds it makes are not comforting.

The prying works by placing one side of the flat bladed screwdriver on the PCB outside the diameter of the buzzer and the other side of the flat bladed screwdriver at the inside edge of the buzzer bottom. Rotate the screwdriver and you move one of the six latches outward loosening the latch. You can use two screwdrivers, have someone help you or just hold the top cap bent away from the bottom. Don't worry about scratching the PCB surface with the screwdriver, just stay away from R7033 and C7018.

An electronic hobbyist could also remove the needles from the cluster and unsolder the two terminals through the PCB from the other side.

Just had a thought on storage of the parts: tape the disk to the outside top of the cap and it will always be there for anybody to reassemble.

    PCB = Printed Circuit Board.

@canuck guy I'll have to get to your question later when I do a write up.

Removed that beeper months ago when I had the dash apart for subwoofer install. I consider the removal of that beeper the more important “audio upgrade” I kinda didnt want to lose turn signal but it was worth it for all the other beeps. If I recall, my emergency braking beep still works. Now I’ve been pondering if I can just install a relay somewhere in the dash just to make the turn signal click…

I disconnected the key switch in the column. Manual transmission. Stopped the beeping on start up. Seatbelt is still operational for now, kinda annoying when travelling a couple of hundred feet at the farm. I'm going to look into the seatbelt switch.

I've never heard my sr beep, it must be high pitched. I can hear the turn signal and it dinged at me a few times, but the seatbelt thing I can't hear. At least there is a positive to the hearing loss. lol

Find a 12VDC noise maker that you like with a high resistance and it could be wired in with a few diodes to keep the right and left separated. When Radio Shack existed this would be easy. A regular old fashioned electromechanical flasher may take too much current and make the vehicle see an error and flash faster or slower - you could try it. The turn signals are generated and powered by the instrument panel.

So for those who may want to possibly reinstall the Piezo speaker at some point here is a source for the factory part.

I drive a lot of country roads and the truck beeps at me for every curve. Button is nice to click off but is helpful in the city. The door beeping is annoying. Thanks for posting that earlier.

at this point the beeping door is really the only thing that annoys me with the truck. sometimes i like to just sit there for a minute with the door open before hopping out, but half the time i get plagued by the beeping because i didnt shut of the engine and open the door in the correct sequence
