My 2011 6 lug needs a lot of suspension work I am discovering.
I’ve been informed, bare minimum, that I need the following parts:

    Upper Control Arms
    Lower Control Arms
    Struts
    Sway Bar Links
    Outer Tie Rods

I’m thinking I’ll get a lift/suspension kit package to cover most of this, but I’ve never seen one of those include the lower control arms, tie rods, and sway bar links. So I may have to find those separately.

If anyone has any tips or packages you recommend and/or reputable sites/places I could pick up all of this for a good price, that would be greatly appreciated. Or really any smart solutions. (And a place with fast shipping also would be nice if possible haha.) Thanks.

No way around it since you have a 4x4 .... gonna be costly. I only have a 4x2 6 lugger... meaning I can get away with a suspension package from rough country cause they have stuff oriented to my 4x2 that gives me a great blend of performance and look of a 4x4. With that in mind, I have no clue what conditions your ride endures... do you do things like winching? Off road alot? etc. ...Mine is basically a street cruiser with upgraded suspension and larger wheels just in case I do something like go to a large state park or come across a emergency situation and make the attempt to cross something the larger tires may get me up and over.

@Tobias119 Thanks! Yeah I know it’ll be some what costly, I don’t have a ton, but I am in the position to maybe spend $2k ish on parts and labor. But I need the truck so I’ll do whatever it takes at this point.

I use it the exact same as you sounds like. Drive to work everyday but also go tent camping/light off-roading like ever other month. It already has a 1.5” spacer in the front suspension (which I think is ~3” lift?) and a 1.5” block in the back and slightly larger tires. I’d like to keep some lift maybe 1.75–2, ideally..

How are you informed? By a shop? What's made you go get it looked at in the first place?

Paying for install is going to really limit your options if your limit is 2k. Maybe a friend or someone in your region on here can help you out

How soon are you needing it?

I’m picking up a LT kit this weekend and will be selling the takeoffs once I install it.

@LOLLY Yeah it’s been vibrating and grinding and squeaking for a while. Already knew it was having suspension issues and I pushed it for as long as I could over the last year. The UCAs do not look good. I went to a shop and I hung out while they did a ton of tests and showed me the suspension on the lift. It’s pretty rough.

Yeah I’m willing to go up In budget if I need to. And maybe a friend could help me, but I trust the shop I went to also. They’re letting me source all the parts which is cool.

But yeah I’m curious about any ideas, clever permutations of parts. Like I was thinking could get Bilstein 5100 struts, keep the coils and leaf pack and block I have on the truck (since those look ok) and find OEM parts for the rest? I know that if I don’t go over 1.75” I can get OEM Upper Control Arms right?

Bare minimum though, I’d also just like to know some reputable/trustworthy sites to buy from. Sometimes when you call them they’ll cut you a deal if you explain to them your predicament ya know. When I had driveshaft issues a bit ago I called a driveline place in California that someone here told me about and they gave me a steal and shipped it fast when I just told them I was basically dead in the water.

What is it about your stock parts that makes them think you need complete UCA/LCA, and not just bushings/ball joints? Rod ends and bar links aren't that pricey, or difficult to install, but swapping out the arms entirely will bump your part/labor budget significantly.

Again, I'm gonna defer to the guys on here when it comes to a taco 4x4. Hopefully Naveronski can help you out and that'll be a win win scenario. Just in case, I've heard good things about the Rough Country Upper A-arms for both the 4x2 and 4x4. I'm assuming you're gonna do as much of your own "homework" as possible and potentially put together a potential parts list for your truck just in case? Either way, best of luck with your project!

Don’t think I’ll be done with it that soon, sorry! But yeah, I’ll check this thread when I’m done.

Where are you located? I've got a pair of good condition (I'll have to check the number of miles) SPC UCAs with greasable balljoints (and an extra balljoint) that I'm looking to flip. (Just swapped them for some uniball UCAs.) I can ship, but no clue on the cost until I get them boxed up and drop them on the scale. Could ship as early as this afternoon, though. Need to see how much people are asking for them used, too, but I'd like to make a deal so I don't have to store them.

Hey, thanks for asking, very good points. I can post some pictures of the UCAs and LCAs in a sec. I think that perhaps I could get away with less (like just ball joints/bushings, it's definitely primarily the ball joints that are coming apart on the UCAs ), but I think the thought is because of the miles and wear on the truck it'd be best to just get new everything and swap it all in. I needled them a bit about what they thought the bare minimum I could get away with was. Their response was since each part of the suspension and repair informs another part, and they'd be disassembling it anyways, might as well replace all the parts that are failing than come back over and over to tweak each part.
And I know I could probably get away with less, but I'm willing to do more, if I can afford it. Which is what I'm trying to do now, price it all out.
Sort of a better safe than sorry attitude, but I understand everything raises the price greatly, and I'm willing to push back/needle them a little more if I find I absolutely can't afford it.
Anyways, these are good questions, I'll part out a full suspension, versus just the necessary parts also.

Oh wow thanks! I'm in Austin TX. Yeah, let me know what you may be asking for them please. But before you box them all up and weigh them, let me poke around a little more, still trying to figure out what all I can get and where. I'll try to figure it all out ASAP.

They're already boxed and in the back of the truck. I'm just not home at the moment. I'll PM you in a couple hours. Call it $350 plus shipping, though? They go for around $700 brand new.

I’m doing some suspension work on mine in the next week or two and I’ll be removing a set of parts store coil overs with about 1k miles on them that you can have for the cost of shipping, they are stock height and ride fine, probably not the best quality in the world but enough to hold you over for a year or so, I’ll also have some oem UCAs with about 75k on them, if they don’t get too beat up from removal they might work for you as well

Oh yeah I was reading about that, those will fit right? Anything to look out for? Are they longer or thicker at all or anything?
