You got an expressway for that speed? lol

The highest posted speed limit I’m aware of is the Texas 130, posted at 85 MPH…

Rode that in my 2nd Gen with cruise set at 93. I swear I could see my gas gauge moving….

I get about 14 going that fast. Before my mods I probably got about 14.5 at that speed. Are your tires at 80 psi by any chance?

Out of curiosity, what do you have for the axle code on the door VIN sticker?

Business trip to Camp Lejeune from Virginia Beach last month. Sunday drive down 17. Mostly 55mph, some short stints of 65mph and a lot of 45mph. Computer said 27.3 when I refueled. Manual calc (the only accurate way) showed 26.2 mpg. The 3.5 does pretty good if you don't flog it. I've never had less than 21 MPG around here either because my commute to work is largely country roads around 45 with few stoplights and little traffic.

My 12 mile drive to work sets me up for success. Our camp road is the biggest challenge, at least during winter/mud season.

Really would like a tank to last two weeks of commuting.

I’m honestly impressed at some of these numbers. Best I’ve ever done is probably 20mpg. I don’t even drive like an ass - I suspect it’s my roof rack.

Probably. Aero can kill mpgs faster than anything (that's what multiplies logarithmically when speeding up, aerodynamic resistance)

Beats the hell out of me? I posted my truck was stock, but I did put 2018 Sport wheels on it with 265/65-17 Toyo Open Country AT tires on it a couple weeks after buying it. Still a stock size tire.

Now that temps are warming up the mpg's are going up! Since I've only had mine since late Dec 23 mpg's have been so, so but understandable with the cold. Short trips to work have been as low as 14-15. The vehicle barely warms up when temps are in single numbers to low teens. It was struggling even on long cold trips maybe 20 ish. Did a long one yesterday 140+ each way. 23.5 up and 22.5 back.

I can consistently get 21-22 round trip for work without too much effort. More than happy with that.

Everyone has a different reason/need for owning a Tacoma. I need the ability to move supplies and the economy for long distance travel but would love to lift and big tire but it's not economically feasible for me. It certainly is a very cool multi faceted truck.

Prior to getting some heavier e-rated tires (and possibly larger diameter(?) at the same 245/75 size), my TAFE was consistently 1.0-1.1 better after ~50 miles than if I mathed it from gas receipts vs miles driven. DTE + actual miles per tank eventually settled to about 420-430 per tank after a half tank or so was gone.
