Me either, so should I be expecting to build the harness from scratch or should I plan to alter what is on the market.

 

That's up to you I think. Building it is tedious and you have to get the female plugs for your ECU variant. I would probably buy a boomslang patch for an auto truck and then cut the male side off to tap into the trans wiring personally. That's what I'll be doing for Mike's truck. You can always call and talk to Boomslang, the guys are pretty cool and they do build pnp engine control ecu adapters for auto trucks despite not listing them on the website.

 

If you know which harness we need, I can order it.

It's what I have, easy to wire up and already has resistors for the buttons so you can wire them up as a one wire config.

Sidetracking... here's an option for people embarking on auto trans control. DD makes this nice rotary module that comes with an IO box... honestly I was hoping to just get the rotary thingy, but the box has a 1 wire output so I suppose the other features like neutral safety and individual gear outputs could be nice too for interlocks or a old fashioned gear display or something. The manual says to hook it to the trans linkage arm... I think that's dumb, why expose it to the elements when it could be under the shifter plastics instead to do the same job.

I miss the steering wheel controls on the 2nd gens. It's another thing I'd like to piece together but it's not high on the list

I just remembered the R3 comes with an on board Wideband controller so that one less thing to worry about and I believe it's using the same Bosch sensor that's already in my down pipe from the PSB-1 guage.

 

Kinda the same problems as an all in one modem...less modules, but more failure points to take out the whole device

 

@Speedytech7 Quick question for you, is the firing trigger the Camshaft? And if so what is the tooth pattern?

 

Cam is a single tooth, you're probably talking about the crank trigger which is 36-2.
