What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

I'll probably just set camber and toe and call it good enough for a trail toy

 

If you have 9/16 with a a 3/4 nut, do you remember where you got them? None of the online vendors list what size nut they include.

There's a leaf spring shop in town I can call on Monday and see what they say, too.

Any ideas why this piece near the maf sensor needs grounded for the truck to start? I have two grounds from the block to the frame. The original one from the fuse block to a ground junction to the frame. And the battery is grounded to the frame as it got moved to the bed. The minute this thing comes off the frame the truck dies and won’t restart unless I put it on the frame again.

also I removed the mechanical fan. The pulley has the 4 bolts through it but do I need to put anything on the end where the fan slipped on? It feels tight but running it looks like it has slop.

 

Well that piece is the igniter. You kind of need that for your ignition coils to do anything at all... It must ground through the bracket I don't have the wiring diagram in front of me right now but when I relocated mine I made sure it was grounded

 

Thanks I’ll ground it then. My personal truck it isn’t grounded and it runs fine and never had an issue so was stumped. I have to recheck the ground from the battery to the frame but I’ve been chasing my tail on why it won’t start without this grounded.

 

@malburg114 It says it does have a ground wire in the harness so you may want to make sure that wire isnt broken if this unit fails to work when not fastened to metal

Getting weird today.

 

Not today, but worked on my OVRLND camper build this week.
Added the shelving and cubby. Insulated and carpeted it, then added carpet and patches.

Worked on my rear bumper swingouts a little more this weekend. Added some steel above the hitch for the Latches and got the pivots welded on and tube bent.

 

Just took it camping

 

Now that’s a clean truck. Are those fender flares rhino lined?

What park is this? I was just at one of those in Encinitas. Always fun seeing so many first Gen trucks in your area.
