Had a Tundra named Vera, so when I downsized I upgraded the trim all the way and named her Saffron. :D

Hey guys thanks for the kind words. It was a rough week for sure. I think I explained this once but when I get an anxiety attack not only do I deal with those feelings but I also quit coffee, sugar and weed. So I get withdrawals from them also which just adds to the anxiety. It’s been a week and the anxiety is almost gone. The one thing I am going to do different is I quit weed. I threw all my stuff in the trash last week and I am done. Starting tomorrow I will do 30min of cardio 3 times a week for now just to get back into exercising. I know that 90% of my anxiety is my fault for not taking care of myself and doing things That I know are not helpful.
The trigger for this attack was waking up last Sunday thinking about doing my taxes. I retired last year so things changed. I used to do my taxes myself but this year we went to H&R Block. I thought I would have to pay this year. I know not a big deal but it triggered it. Then I am just hanging on for the ride. My wife made an appointment last Tuesday for them to get done. I was still very anxious. I asked her while she was getting ready if I had to go . She did the best thing ever which is not like her at all. She laid into me telling me to get my shit together, get ready to go so we can get it done. She said some other things but in all the years we have been married this is probably the second time she has talked to me like this. IMO it was needed. Sometimes we need a kick in the ass from someone we love to get us going. No one has talked so stern with me in a long time. It was well received. We went and had our taxes done and actually got back 3k which shocked the hell out of me. Didn’t take the anxiety away but showed another example of me thinking the worst and it happening the opposite.
Sorry to unload all my shit here but it really does help writing it all out and being vulnerable.

Sounds like it was an impactful week in the right direction, glad to hear it!

I smoked for 10 years during and after college and it's amazing how much stopping helped with my anxiety. I've been (mostly) clean for about 5 years now, since my wife moved to Pullman. Every once in a while if I've been sleeping like shit I'll do a gummy at bedtime, but even those do weird things sometimes. Last time I took one I got real paranoid my dog kept stopping breathing so I'd wake up and check on her . No regrets stopping at all.

Anyways, glad you're on the mend, Kevin

If you need to unload, then unload! We might not have the answers for you but I think all of us are more willing to read what might not mean much to us than to read an obituary. Hell, PM me if you need and I'll give you my number so you can call.

Sounds like you made some moves that will benefit you. Sounds like your wife has you back whether you want to hear things or not. Exercise can be a great stress reliever. Consider some weight training or boxing with a speed bag or similar. Those can be a good way to take out some aggression.

By all means, vent here. Many of us know exactly what you are feeling. Better to talk it out with friends.

Well I got out for my first ride of the season. Short ride of only 40 or so miles but man did it feel good! The bonnevile is running great and I'm still in love with her. It has a full tank of stabilized fuel that needs to be burned out. Initial impressions of the new seat are good but I need to do some longer rides before I give it a full thumbs up. But it does feel better than the stock seat. I've got a lot going on but I need to find some time to get the new Bridgestone batlax tires mounted, the stock pirelli phantoms really do suck.

Almost burned up a full tank of fuel this weekend. New battery installed in Buell, got the CB400F fired up first time this year. Had the 13 FJR out starting on the Team Strange Grand Tour. Visited 6 race tracks and took photos, went to another former race track location and found it's not there anymore. One small motocross track that lacked the signage required.

Picked up a 202 z650 for 6500 out the door with 2450 miles. So far I’m loving the change from my modded klx351

Glad that you're doing better now. As always, you can vent here all you want. Worst case scenario, we don't have anything helpful to say and can just give the virtual "there, there" pat on the back.

Best case scenario we might be able to say something helpful and lend an ear.

It's a good group of folks in this particular thread, and though we may bust each other's balls once in a while, it's all done with humor. Nobody here is going to jump your ass for having a rough go and needing to write it out to get it all under control.

I laughed pretty good when you shared what your wife said/did to get you going. Quote from a band of my youth "True friends stab you in the front" rings true. Those who really know you and care will tell you the hard things you need to hear because they want you to be successful. Give her a high five from me, because that takes care, compassion and guts to say to some one you love! :fistbump:

Damn that bike looks good! What year is it? Is it the Base or the Adventure Sports version? Yes, I could try to backtrack to other posts where you might have shared it, but I'm lazy. :burp:
