My 2021 just got a new short block from Toyota. I picked the truck up the other day and the steering feels really light. Especially when I’m doing high way speeds and hit a bump it feels like I’m about to drift off. The dealer is an hour away so I’m trying to see if there is something I can check at home.

yea I did. Even jacked the truck up and turned the wheel a few times to bleed any air out.

One thing that confused me, according to the shop ticket they used Toyota power steering fluid which is mineral oil. In my manual it says to use ATF

I hate to even ask but what was wrong with the old block?
and yes check the connectors, that switch panel will snake up and out of the door panel.

I brought it in for “knocking” which I for sure think is in the valve train. Had a bunch of metal in the oil pan and 2 cylinders were scorned. A month later I get the truck back and it’s still making the same noise lol. I think I'm going to trade it in.

What connectors are you talking about?

In the door panel where all the switches are and the rear view mirror knob is. Use a putty knife and insert it where it meets the panel on the side, rear and front and work it around and it will pop out. it will come out with all the connectors attached. wiggle them and make sure they are seated all the way. at this point you can try it and whatever the result it just pops back in.
