Same experience with my 4runner and obsessed with preventing rust so I also went to Ziebart because only thing near me were guys using lanoline which I don't like. The bad press on the internet is from a product not used in years and lack of knowledge. Ziebart does a great job of protecting from rust. I had my inside fenders, doors hood and frame done with the cosmoline type stuff and the outer frame and underside with same stuff as you. I also use spray cosmoline for areas that might not have been done perfectly and also trailer hitch. They wanted $60 for yearly touchup, but I will just touch up myself with cosmoline.

Rolled over 10K on the way home, so she got an oil change and tire rotate. Put my new metal filter housing on too, those are nice. I did the entire drain out without spilling so much as a drop on the floor and then proceded to stick the little plastic filter drain thingy in crooked and squirted oil all down my wrist and onto the inside of my skid plate.

Yep, talent. I got's it some days.............

Yes, it’s uglier than a bucket full of butt holes. But would it be less ugly if it had a 327 V8 in it ?

I saw the Oscar-Meyer Weiner-mobile today, but did not get any pictures. Thought enough weirdness and ugliness had been imposed on TW already.

The ones around here are just plain white trucks towing unmarked trailers. I’m not sure what they’re actually hauling.

    Well. Nothing exciting.

I'm at 62k now so I've been chipping away at my service. Last week was front/rear differential and xfer case fluid swap. This week was plugging a tire with a nail close to the shoulder....that led to just rotating al l 4 tires and cleaning the brakes, drums, and suspension components.... After that I followed up with finding any bits of rust and shooting them with some paint and using some mavcoat on the frame, suspension, and undercarriage...

Nothing pic-worthy. I will get to the trans drain and fill and an oil change next week.

When I was a kid, they had college scholarships for solar powered vehicles students developed, some were cars, some were actually planes. They developed vehicles that required no outside sources of energy except the sun. I seem to recall the plane being airborn for over a day, which at the time was very news worthy. Neither were fast, but only ran by the sun. in the late 90’s Ballard Technology developed and employed hydrogen fuel cell technology, they held so many US fuel cell patents and held contracts with numerous major vehicle manufacturers, Honda, Toyota, Ford, and many more as well as mass transit bus systems, their buses were used in Japan and other countries over seas.. the only byproduct was water… yes H2O..
Then along came ford, who purchased the rights to many of those patents, that all but disappeared for the last 24 years or so..
2 examples of free transportation. Ballard was soon on the OB board, but slowly has seemed to of rebounded in the market. None the less, I felt as if they sold us out for the mighty dollar, and never reinvested with them again.
Hydrogen fuel cell technology may still be a viable energy source, but someone in the middle is going to make sure it’s never free..
It’s about the money, nothing else.

I did something very similar in 2020 on my 19, and they too offer some sort of warranty , but only if I return to honor future undercoating schedules.. I instead went with fluid film applications every fall, typically it’s 5 cans living here in Northeast Pennsyltucky..(so far behind the times we are still waiting on Y2K!). A paper suit, drop the spare and go to the yard, spray everything subject to water exposure underneath and around the lower front of the engine, including hose clamps. Let it set up for a day in the yard, then I run dirt roads with dust and no rain exposure for a few days. It leaves a nice uniform coating your front end guy will love..
    so here’s 4 years of road salt exposureIMG_1949.jpg IMG_1950.jpg IMG_1951.jpg IMG_1952.jpg
