I was trying to order an Apex AXS system for a gravel bike.

Winter mode for the Taco. Digging the DHR2 MaxxGrip up front. It’s funny how much narrower a 2.4 looks than a 2.5. Definitely seems like less of a vague area in flat slow turns than the DHF but the dirt is pretty premium right now.

Pretty much my experience as well.
    Almost to the letter.
Ordered a few items that seemed like a really good deal. Arrived not as described. They paid for return shipping.
Cost me nothing more than time and hassle, which I didn’t appreciate.

Jeez, I guess it’s a trend with them, that’s unfortunate. Mine had a picture of the full AXS system but it didn’t include the brifters and calipers. I’d pieced out the kit from multiple places, and if I added the brifters to Colorado Cyclist’s price, it ended up being more expensive. Same, only cost me time and disappointment.

Maybe someone here can clarify. I have a 29er shimano cassette on some i9 hubs . M8100 XT 12 speed. Smallest cog is 10t.

my shop told me it was a HG freehub body but by my research (because I want to set it up SS) since it’s a 12sp and smallest cog is 10t that’s more likely microspline.. any thoughts?

First race of the year. Lots of cramping on the transfers but a super fun race. Almost 5 hours out there and time flew by.

These two broncos were parked next to me, the old one was pretty sweet!

So I bought an inexpensive gravel bike last year. Now, I’ve come to realize I have too much into it to ever sell/trade. Besides the frame, there’s not really much that’s factory left on it. Last domino to fall is the drivetrain/brakes. I settle on the Apex mullet setup. I’m going Frankenbike! Apex brifters, SX 11-50 cassette, GX derailleur and keeping the Shimano Zee bottom bracket with a generic chainring.

I currently have an 11-48 cassette and a 40t chainring. With the 50t dinner plate out back, I’m stepping up to a 44t chainring so my top end should be much better without really sacrificing my bail out gear.

I have to ask, and I feel like this could spark an awesome debate, who's the industry leader? For me, my I9 Torches are the loudest thing I own. They just sing to me on a long downhill section!

That I've used: CK, Hydra, P321, Hope Pro4. They all give plenty of warning, albeit in different ways. Hydra, CK, and P321 have that high-pitched sound, while Hopes are just louder.
The new Pro5 is not that loud at all.
Most hubs get louder if you use oil not grease. The less you use, the louder they get. I really like the CK hubs (and their sound), but I'm not shelling out that kind of $$ on them anymore.

Side-note; getting over the insta-engagemnt thing. I rode the 1-1s for a bit and realized that (for me) it felt near ideal. The new Pro5s are in the same ballpark (~100 POE) and feel perfect. It had been a while since I'd been on the CK hubs, which have 72. Noticeably less pedal feedback with these hubs.
