quoted 245 plus fees for this at local toyota dealer....I will verify if I get a new filter etc with this service...reason why is my 17 SR AC 2.7 has 66K mostly street miles and I will be installing MillerCat shields on it soon...so if I'm gonna get the tranny serviced now is the time...your thoughts please?? Thanks!!

Satoshi, debadged, rear view mirror bracket, tail gate hose clamps, trimmed mud flaps.
price seems fair and I doubt it will include a new filter. A basic drain and fill is a great idea every 60k miles.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
I don’t think you should do it. I think you should (for example) sell me your truck and buy yourself a brand spankin’ new ‘24.

Have you ever towed anything with the truck, or otherwise worked it hard? If not, personally I'd save the money.

This is assuming the 4 cyl recommended maintenance matches the 6 cyl.

I would still flush it at that mileage...The fluid has probably done lost all of its Lubrication qualities by now..but its up to you.

I service ATF every 40K miles, so yes, I would do it. Fluid is cheaper than a new transmission.

    minor tweaks
I don't think that price is crazy in today's world, for an old timer like me it seems excessive but if they do it correctly, provide a filter and the good Toyota ATF I can easily see it being that expensive esp with the price of fluid. 12qts of Toyota ATF is $120 on Amazon so the materials with filter is at least half of that. I need the same thing right now. If I could get a full change out of the ATF and a new filter done at the dealer for that I'd probably do it here. I have access to the Auto Hobby shop on a local base so I'm going to try to do it myself before long.

I'm relatively sure this is a drain and fill by machine (ie...flush) and doesnt include pan removal and cleaning. You'd probably have to ask that that be done also and I'm sure it would add at least another hour of labor.

    Do it!

I hit 83K miles and had a shutter in 3rd gear that was fixed with a fluid swap. The 2016s are known to be mysteriously low on transition fluid but it's worth doing it early and protecting your transition.

These things are loosely considered the same thing although fluid exchange is the more correct term. Takes 12qts to do a full exchange. Easy to do at home once you understand the flow path of the fluid. You need to start them early though (around 40K) and do a pan drop at the same time to replace the filter and clean the magnets of the initial break in material. Then you can do just a exchange every 40-50K and drop the pan again on the 3rd exchange. Just my 2 cents
