I have a 2002 Prerunner DC 5vz I just completed a manual swap and 4x4 conversion, I still have the AT ECU and Harness on I just kept NSS and wired in the reverse lights until I find a MT ECU and harness. Everything started up and idled fine around 800 RPM, but when accelerating I noticed I was getting high RPM pretty quickly at low MPH speed. I shifted between 4000-5000 RPM until I got into 5th gear I was only going 40 MPH at 5000 RPM and I was afraid to go over 6000 RPM so I started to slow down. Looking to see if anyone has had this problem before or knows how I can fix this.

    Welcome to the Forum.

Do you have your transfer casein Low Range ??

About the only thing that comes to mind if your tach was working correct before your project.

    4x4 lever is in the H position? Or H2 if it's a J shift

Is it possible to plug in an OBDII scan tool and confirm that your tachometer is reading the correct RPM?

Seems like it could be wrong, and if I'm not mistaken your tach takes a reading from a VSS that is part of the transmission right? So maybe somewhere in there lies your issue

You were correct I took off the sifter for T-case and notice the spring that mounts to the cover was missing and it wasn't shifting properly I thought I was in Neutral but I was stuck in 4L. Didn't really noticed anything while driving because I didn't hook up my shaft from diff to T case. I don't know why I didn't think of that I was just excited to finally drive it. Thanks
