    So far, so good!

I'm very close to starting a new job. Submitted my letter of intent today to department manager.

Started new job on Dover AFB on Dec 18th--I'm the young buck at 57!

That's ok...I'll be the FNG for a lil bit before they hand off more duties.

In the meantime, I saw a thread where these wheels were mentioned:

    PTR56-89210-F5

But...that's a little down the road addition...if nothing else comes up.

    Update:

I opened my Christmas gift of Total Chaos Bed Stiffeners and was excited.

Seems the weather isn't the best to drill holes and spray paint exposed metal at that time.

So, I've decided to wait for warmer weather before install.

The DB tonneau cover will have to wait for a bit...so, I'm in no rush to install.

Good afternoon Delaware + surrounding areas.

It's snowing here...and I took my Sport out for a little drive of 12 miles.

As I parked her, the dashboard said FOB key had low battery. (I'll have to check the 2nd FOB as well)

It's been almost three years (May 2021) since buying my truck.

I was concerned the Remote Start might not work after replacing battery but IT WORKED!

Nice! How’s the dash cam? I’m gonna need on to get my wife one when her new car comes in. Not sure if I’ll get her the same thing I have.

    Works great, Eric.

I bought a 64G SD card for it and able to download via adapter to my MacBook.

I had a nice 1.5 hour time with my Sporty truck tonight, tonight, tonight.

Of course, I use a leather shammy to dry her...the dirt was just showing up too much.

Had new sponges too so as not to scratch the paint too much with older sponges.

Love you Spicy Girl!!! lololol :101010:

    Oil change today! Mileage: 27,059

First time using the Fumoto Valve drain system as well as the Aluminum Oil Filter Housing drain tubing.

Such a CLEAN way to do oil change.

The Aluminum Housing was hand tightened on initial install and today, it came off a lot easier than the plastic composite housing.

Thanks to my son-in-law (SIL); I had him do some of the work...lol!

The trade-off was I got him signed into the base so we could utilize the Auto Hobby Shop on Dover AFB.

SIL was able to get his VW GTI and Mini Cooper done...and then we brought my truck in for oil change. ($8 per/stall usage)

First, removal of the rubber cap on the Fumoto and attaching the tubing:

    tempImage1HXJn4_e04376fa7af652c2d2bdb0d6e4ea6ef50cbe2dde.jpg

Next came opening the valve once the rubber cap was removed.

    tempImagensQO3h_6fb0e775cdad42d4489cd1e47f2e0ca7bdafb818.jpg

    It drained pretty quick.

    tempImagelfAAkt_923060d0847f17e135fa7407d2bc96eb8baf1609.jpg

    Son-in-law took these pics.

    tempImagevULSSB_17ac39c0fec36699d34eb06308783d59718b4946.jpg

So glad I got my oil change done.

I'm driving my truck to the airport & doing long-term economy parking tomorrow--it's been since Oct/2023 since last oil change. (Less than 4K driven)

Looked like a fun time. I bet you were able to not spend the entire time looking for the tools you needed

I need to plan on diff, transfer and brake fluid changes… though I don’t regularly drive in the listed conditions to change the fluids at 30k…

    Hey Eric,

Both of us had specialty tools that we brought...but we used the funnels and some extension sets/ratchet.

I'm so glad the Auto Hobby Shop has enough business to stay open.

Welp, I went to the dealership yesterday for tire-rotation (and CARFAX update).

Price went up from $20 to $29.99 since dealership was bought out.

I'll be keeping an eye out for price increase...if that happens.

After doing the oil change myself, I'm OK with the $30 tire rotation + brake pad/shoes/tire tread eval.
