Which harness are you using? Headlight Services?

When I installed the ground switched harness on my power switched 2nd Gen, it did not work. So I don't think that is the issue.

It sounds like a harness issue, I'd reach back out to Mike at Headlight Services to see what he says. Keep us posted if you do.

curious to know how they look
Appears AlphaRex has new 2nd gen tails
Not sure if there’s a tail light thread
Anyone have them? Looks like this truck might.
    Hopefully signal isn’t red.

    IMG_4428.jpg IMG_4427.jpg

    Pricier than this one

    IMG_4429.jpg

Been running DEPO smoked without issue. Integrated circle brake/running red LED maybe not the brightest and not bulb swappable like incandescent rails (DD brake bulb) but still compatible with turn signal and reverse bulb changes

So I got into contact with Mike and he said to try swapping my relays, unfortunately that didn’t work. My low beams will not come on at all now, only the high beams. But the low and high beam indicators come on when the switch is in the low beam position. Not sure where to go from here but Mike was kind enough to send out 2 new relays at no charge so that was super cool!

Have you tried unplugging the harness at the connectors (no need to remove it from the battery) and connecting the stock wiring to some stock bulbs to see if the issue occurs without the harness being involved?

Funny I actually just did that and was about to come back here lol so when i plugged in my old assemblies with the stock wiring, everything worked normally, the low and high beams worked, and my high beam indicator only came on with the high beams like normal.

I plugged brand new bulbs in and it has the same issues, so I can cancel out bad bulbs.

I changed around the relays and only the high beams work, low beams don’t. But both indicators come on.

    Could it be the relays?

IMO, yes. I suspect bad relay(s) or some kind of wiring fault in the harness. Relays are relatively cheap, easily changes, and the more likely culprit.

I hope it’s not the harness! Thankfully Mike from Headlight services has some new relays on the way to me already!

Let us know how it goes after a relay swap, hopefully that fixes the issue.

Only other thing you could do is, using only one relay in first the low beam spot then the high beam spot, test and observe. Label the two relays first so you can tell them apart. If one behaves while the other doesn’t, that tells you something of value. If they are dual 87’s then you should be able to test independently, if one has 87A then you’d need to jump 30 to 87A when that one isn’t in use to test the other one.

Just got new relays in, same issues. I’m thinking somehow it’s the harness since I ruled out everything else.

Have you checked the harness ground? Are you grounded to the battery terminal or fender?

Battery terminal. Should I try the fender?
