A little something every chance we get.
:rain:Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Day of rain and storms for us. Only 0.04" so far, and a break in radar. Which is fine, because I found a replacement podiatrist, and am off to see him in a few minutes.

:pccoffee:   sixtys/wannabes/sungazers. Eclipse was pretty much of a bust here. Clouds rolled in about an hour before it began, and rolled out about an hour after it ended. I still grabbed a couple of shots by putting eclipse gazer glasses over the lens of my phone camera. It did get markedly colder for a while, but never really much darker. Just another cloudy day.

I'm willing to part with these for 1/2 price!

All joking aside, best 2 bucks I’ve spent in awhile. Had fun yesterday, sitting on the deck, sunshine, some Pink Floyd on.

You should have continued west to California then you could have paid $5.65 a gallon as I did this morning when I filled my wife’s Highlander. And if you look around you can find even higher prices. I remember “gas wars” of 50 plus years ago where gas stations competed for who could sell gas the cheapest. Things have changed. Now now in California they compete for who can charge the highest prices and the competition is fierce.
We take a road trip once a year to Dammeron Valley Ut. to visit friends for a little r&r. (Since we are retired every day is r&r)I’ve noticed on every trip gas prices get lower and lower the further east we go. In Utah prices are generally $1.50+ a gallon cheaper than California.
Have a great Tuesday all (and for those retired have a great Saturday).

I wonder if California Gov. Gavin Newsom has made a connection to this and other reasons 100,000 folks have left California during his tenure?

    Evening all:

Found it, not the best pic., but sure brings back memories!

    "TIMBERMAN"
I used to run this car in the 1/8 mile at a small local dragstrip it was in my class and I couldn't beat it, if I remember right he ran 7:21 and I could run 7:35.
The article said he was a legend at Pocono Drag Lodge which was a sanctioned NHRA strip, the car was a blueprinted SD 421 Pontiac that was strip only, figure I didn't do too bad against it with a street driven car that weighed a whole lot more.
This car and a blueprinted 427 strip only Ford were the only two cars in my class that could beat me, then there was that darn 426 Max Wedge which ran a different class and could beat all three of us for top stock!

Thankfully, there was a nice hole in the clouds for about 30 seconds.

I am happy to report that traffic was back to normal today.

Costco gas was $2.99 this morning, 3% back on Costco Card, so $2.90
