5000k is the way to go in my opinion 6000k is too blue for my liking, they just look cheesy. The 5000k is just a nice crisp white with a bluish tint to them where the 6000k is just a bit bluer. Also depends on who you guy them from and what wattage, but from experience on my street bike and old car the 5000k is the best looking!

4300k is the whitest and 5000k is not that much of a difference very slight slight hint of blue, but it's closer in color to 4300k than 6000k. 6000k will be have a fair amount of blue. 5000k is my personal preference, and anything over 6000k is useless IMO.

Do you have a 55w kit or do you have just have abnormally white bulbs? I've never seen a 6k kit look that white before.

Any cam by default is going to do auto white balance and not faithfully reproduce the color temp.

If you really want to compare, you'd have to shoot it with something that lets you manually set the white balance, and shoot each light with the same setup.

I do a little photography as a hobby:

I vote for 35 watt, 5000ºF HID... white with a hint of blue. As said above, 4300ºF is the optimum bright/white color... The more blue, the dimmer you get with light on the ground.'
