These people work at a University, right? They need to have someone sketch how their new office will look? o_O

I can see it now, I need to move to a new cubicle and I ask for it to be sketched

I think pretty much any man goes through this at some point. I can only tell you what has worked for me in the past, and I can tell you that this happens in cycles, depending on projects, jobs, drama, etc. This has happened to me countless times.

Several years ago, I was in a different role in my company. I had a lot of direct reports from all over North America. I was not getting any sleep lol. My brain was going nine hundred miles an hour. I went to a shrink. They just wanted to talk about it. No plan or anything. Looking back, it is a good thing I found a solution or it could have been bad for me.
My solution? Write it down. Make a plan during your waking hours. Think of every possible outcome and deal with it on paper. Don't plan too long term, just a few days of plan.

Here is a very important quote that I think about daily: "An idea without a plan is just a wish." Simple, but effective.

When I started doing this, I immediately felt better and was able to be calm enough to sleep. Knowing that I had a plan, a good plan, helped.
    Hope this helps!

You are the 2nd person on here who has said to write it down, I think I'll try that tonight, cause I know it's gonna happen. It did last night at 2:30, luckily I was able to go back to sleep from being so tired from yesterday.

I appreciate all the advice from everyone on here, it's nice to have different perspectives :hattip:

My buddy ask me if I could make him a coupling, I said send me a sketch. His sketches are way better than mine.

In my youth I used to wake up with "great ideas"
(instead of the great worries that come with age...)
the problem was I couldn't remember them in the morning.

I got the idea to put a pencil & notebook next to the bed - didn't need glasses to write back then either.

So sure enough I woke up a few nights later with an idea!

    It was simple!
    It was revolutionary!!
    It was a money maker!!!

I excitedly wrote down three pages of notes - everything was so clear, I went back to sleep so optimistic & relaxed knowing tomorrow would be the day - I would start changing the world & make enough money to buy part of it too.

    .
    .
    .

Morning came and I awoke with a smile - I couldn't quite remember my great idea but I knew I had it all written down, I confidently reached for my (world changing) notebook...
    .
    .
    ...and...
    .
    .

It was three pages of absolute gibberish... :pout:

There weren't two words together that meant anything along with neat flow charts with circles & arrows that meant nothing.

I kept the notebook there for a while, never got one cohesive phrase. I decided that a semi conscious mind isn't something to take seriously. :notsure:

I remember that day, and that note……

You were actually at work and the note was from your boss. I found a copy of said note……

While you were sowing, I was reaping.

This is my third load (the only time I thought to take a pic), all of this one is from the old apple tree. I'm making headroom for mowing season around the "estate".

I also rolled some lawn yesterday. It gets it about every 6 years because it desperately wether it needs it or not.

Funny, in my youth I worried about losing my job -
    - as I got older it was more a matter of "if you can do it better then have at it".

After I retired it turns out they couldn't.

    Yes they are.

I've got a DeWalt with a cord that'll eat through almost anything. I've had it for 20+ years.

You've been doing a good job mowing along the property line. But damn, that trailer is kinda tacky looking, can you move it before you take another picture? :anonymous:
