I used Turbotax, but same idea, it imports transactions. It was easy this year though.
Ended up missing something that we were supposed to file so had to ammend my filing a day after I send it. Shenanigans. But Turbotax knew what to do, so that was fine. Followed the directions and off we went.

I'll look at H&R next year. My library didn't have anything, but sometimes credit cards have statement credits and whatnot too. I think it was 40$ for us this year?

The other side of this is trying to translate it into people's lives. Housing costs are usually 20-40% of most households' spending.

Demand is largely inelastic.

If rates stay high, costs stay high due to expensive mortgages.
If rates drop, demand accelerates on a commodity constrained by shortage.

Either way, housing costs are going up unless supply begins to outstrip demand and there are literally no signs of that even beginning right now, so expect it to take a decade if it occurs at all. Take a look at how property prices have progressed in England and Canada over the last 50 odd years to see what it looks like if it doesn't.


So you're the Fed. You don't build houses. You have one lever, and housing costs get worse no matter which way you pull it.
