Out of curiosity I got carmax to appraise my 4R and they offered me $19k. :anonymous: 2017 SR5 with 101k miles. Guess I'll just keep it forever.

The real kick in the balls is I paid $30k for this less than a year ago, and at the time it was a very solid deal in the market. It seems the used car market is calming down now.

Stuff that costs more than my wife thinks.
Yeah... we held off on upgrading the wife's Colorado because we enjoy not having the second payment.

Now it just makes sense to hold off cause the fall off on value is real. Might as well hang on 'til it's worth it to dump it off.

That because ppl are keeping there clunkers and can't afford the New shinny price tag. Its the one of many reasons my family Biz is closing down. No used car hitting the junk yards and the price of a junk car is sit. Big company's that have the capital to float the market a bit are closing the mom n pop scarp yards. This hurts everyone

I got like 10% off MSRP on mine 2 months ago so prices are super suppressed right now. Toyota is pushing internally to move them ahead of the LC and 6G so I bet the 5G prices will bounce back once they're gone.

It's why I bought new because while they're gimping trade in, you sure as hell aren't seeing it on the other side on the lot. I think they're making the same bet.

Yeah I committed to my 5th gen, buy new, keep it maintained, amortize it into dust. It's already paid off early, and I love it more than any car I have ever owned period.

If Toyota just teases us an never drops the MR2 I don't see myself buying something new any time soon. If the 86 or Miata suddenly gain auto rev match I might be tempted for a fun car but I'm really holding out for the MR2 rebirth. I just wanna sit in front of a motor for once and a Porsche is pretty far outta the question

Is there any substance to the MR2 rumors?
My current daily is a BRZ, its most fun after driving the truck for a few days straight. Thats the only time the thing feels fast :anonymous:

Would definitely look at an MR2 if they did make one, but looking at the cost of the GR Corolla, I can't imagine it comes out under 50k..

Used Boxsters can be had for a song, especially if you can do some maintenance yourself.

Less popular opinion on a Toyota forum but I honestly dislike my 4R. It rides like a tank and the engine and trans are sluggish. Compare it to our 2023 odyssey which has a V6 paired to a 10 speed trans and it is so buttery smooth, it's incredible. I averaged 26 mpg on our last road trip, 800 miles, mostly highway, cruising at 80+ mph. The 4runner is a great compromise though if you're going to be camping and exploring, and if I didn't have the drivetrain of the Odyssey to compare it to, I might be happier.

Coming from a Tacoma to a 4Runner, the 4Runner is leaps and bounds nicer but if I had to do it again I would’ve just gone Tundra

I had a 2020 tundra before switching the the 4R so that probably plays into it. I really loved that truck. The primary reason I sold it was because of the stupidly small driveways here.

The 4Runner barely fits into our garage as it is. There’s probably 6-8 Tundras in my neighborhood and they are all parked on the street or in the driveway
