I went out looking last Saturday with my buddy Carl, will continue to search lol. Lots of pavement but there was a trail that would've been real fun snow wheeling if we didn't find it at 3pm

Came across this file with waypoints for NMW campsites, most seem to have a description which could be super helpful. Also has some checkpoints and gates listed as well.
I have no idea how accurate or updated this is so take it for what its worth.

I am trying to determine if I am getting a season pass to NMW, and wondering where we are at with this trip. In Vermont there was a conversation about camping on Moosehead and not in NMW, which will save folks some $$$.

    Thoughts.

I’m probably going to get the season pass anyway. If the plan is moose head I’ll probably join you guys for a few days and either before or after go into the woods

Destination - where you're going in the woods. Which campsite, or if it's a day trip, where to. IE ghost trains, etc.

Purpose - i think for us "leisure" or "camping". I think they look for hunting and other stuff too.

Lease - not for what we're doing.

I'm down for moose head for the whole shebang. We can take a couple day trips into the woods or maybe an overnight here and there or something.

    I'll update the post tomorrow.

I like the idea of some day trips, even better if we are dealing with a rain day.

I’m still down either way. I suppose an accurate head count will help determine where we can snag a spot easily.

There are few spots that we might be able to take over and still be on Moosehead and not have any others around us. Or, there is a bigger camp space that can handle us, but will have others also there.

Update April 11 2024: We are not going to stay in the woods for the whole trip! We're going to find a spot near/on Moosehead lake for the "basecamp" option (to be found and determined). It's all up to everyone there, we might go into the woods for an overnight, a group might take off for an overnight, it's all willy nilly. But either way, there will be the option to kip up for the whole week w/o day use fees.

(For those who came in '22 and '23, the last night sites on Moosehead is what we're thinking, or one a bit south of there).

Unfortunately I am not going to be able to go. I will be the only supervisor at my office for the first two weeks in August due to others taking vacation time.

Basics. Tires, painted headlighes, UHLM, baby winch in the bed, and heated mirrors :)

I'd LOVE to say yes wholeheartedly but unfortunately am between jobs at the moment, so not sure what my availability is gonna be in a few months. Hoping to be able to go, but don't hold my spot if y'all fill up. Thanks for keeping me in mind!

I'm @98% sure I'm going. Planning on going 15-18th, I have transitioned to my new job and should be able to secure those dates.

The one who dies with the most stuff wins.
Following. I'd really like to finally link up with you guys on one of these trips. We made it as far as Acadia last year and the forecast was three straight days of rain in the NMW when we were going to head in, and with two toddlers would not have been a smart idea.
