    Evening all:

    Just thinking!
The picture is so unique and beautiful that whoever took it should be able to somehow make some money off of it, hopefully it's not photoshopped.

Looks suspiciously like AI. In perspective the moon is too large relative to the bluebonnets in the foreground and the trees in the background. Also, in Texas the sun was about 75-80 degrees overhead at the time of totality so it was not possible to include the horizon and the eclipse in this type of photo.

20240410_125751.jpg Good morning. I am friends with a couple that are bot into astronomy. The wife teaches at a college level and the husband is a lifelong buff. He told me most of the images on the internet are photoshopped. Look for the photos posted by NASA. Both traveled to view the eclipse in Ohio, they have 3 homemade telescopes. They took the 8 in telescope. BTW he is a navy vet and was the official photographer on CV-66 in the 80's.

    Smoked meatloaf last night.

FYI, Gas Buddy app shows Sam’s Club gas this morning at $2.69 regular. Up $.18 since last week. Cheapest anywhere else is $2.99. Not like when I was in highschool at $.16/gallon in Texas.
Meeting an old (younger than me!) bud for breakfast at Cracker Barrel this morning to catch up. Then into the yard to hopefully sharpen the lawn mower blade.
Kind of a depressing day though. Got my income tax in the mail yesterday…ugh! Still owe on it. Oh well, I guess it could be worse. I could be dead! LOL!
Do something fun today! A beautiful day here in the Rockies to spend outside!

Good Morning Everyone, have a great day.

Tom, ditto on the meatloaf. How long does that need to cook / smoke?

I'd rather owe than get back any good financial planner will tell you that. I used to be a couple hundred either way when I was working. I can't seem to get a handle on my taxes since I retired. Now I've gotten a refund 2x now of 800. During inflammatory times this is stupid not to owe. It will change next year as I taken the time to make changes.

A little something every chance we get.
:pccoffee: Good morning Porch Pals & Sue! Lovely day for a couple quick errands, and mowing. I can do that. Forgot to update the toe business; found a second Dr, and had a consult on TOEsday. I DON'T need the procedure - infection is well controlled, the abusive piece cut out has taken care of the pain, an expensive daily foot soak mix, and keep in touch!

:pccoffee:  sixtys/wannabes/meatloafers. @95SLE that is a tempting looking picture!

We too are doing tax-related stuff just now. I use TurboTax, and it recommended that I make life simpler on myself and enter some numbers as aggregate totals rather than putting them in one at a time. Seemed like a good idea until I got to the end of everything and looked at the filing instructions. It turns out that if I do it the way they say I will then have to mail or fax (FAX? Really??) a very specific itemized list of stuff to the feds AND the state! On the other hand if I take a little more time up front and enter the numbers one by one, presto -- I can file electronically, clean as a whistle. I chose the latter.

@ndoldman59 I agree, generally speaking it's better to owe a bit than to get a big refund. When I was a struggling younger person the refund was quite welcome, but that was when it was tough to set money aside in savings. These days we're transitioning from W2's and automatically deducted taxes to having to figure it out on the fly, pay estimated taxes, and all of that. I'm finding it to be a bit of a challenge to guess correctly. This year we'll send $ to Uncle Sam, but Billy Penn will be sending some $ back to us. One nice thing about PA is that they don't tax any retirement income; SS, pensions, all are tax free here.

So far, I would think it's just a matter of time!

Do you remember schedule G, [income averaging], it was Federal and it worked, that is until they figured out it was costing them money, then they did away with it! :(

I see that O J Simpson passed today. Most of us should remember him.
I think he was also the downfall of Howard Cosell along with satellite TV

Sorry to hear good luck with that. I've been doctoring with an enlarged one, some of those meds have undesirable side effects.

So far the only side effect from the surgery and meds is what are euphemistically called "hot flashes", yeah, about that, I call them "hot hours".
