I can’t really sleep in the current Runner anyways, this just lets others share my experience trying to stretch while sleeping.

All the rear seats (2nd and 3rd row) are basically down flat 24/7 in my GX. I couldn’t imagine not having that option. Without kids currently, I like the flat open space. Kids someday will screw that up and I’ll make the switch to a full size truck I think.

In my 4Runner with the seats folded down, I probably have slightly more cargo space than a short bed Taco with a standard height cap.

Never in my life did I ever think to be so excited about a wagon.

I ordered this at the same time as an Alaska mill and some tracks. That stuff will be here in a few days I guess, so when the weather clears in a week or so I can get out and start hauling brush and firewood and rough cut the posts and beams.

I'm looking at 10x10 boxed heart spruce for the whole timber frame. The old timers say anything bigger on a side than 6' with spruce is quite lively as it dries, so I think I'm going to try to rough them to 11 over to give it 10%, then lay them out for six weeks before I recur/"finish pass" them. I don't need them to be perfect since I'm skinning over them, but I do want to make sure that they don't rack out of plane too far especially on the exterior faces.

Given the timeliness I think I should have plenty of time to paint the wagon wheels gold too.

I’m so unamused right now. Just had a “legally it’s my fault but the other dude’s an @sshat” accident.

I was taking a left onto a busy road, there was a gap in traffic to my left so I went to roughly the middle of the road to wait for the final three cars from the right to pass so I could complete my left. Guy coming from my left snaked the gap between me and the car on my right. I clipped him as he went by. I’m livid since he should have given me the courtesy to stop for me but didn’t and I didn’t anticipate a car being there since I blocked the road.

I’ve got the dash cam footage but I don’t see how I don’t get found at-fault. I need a bumper, grille surround, grill inset and bumper lip. No, I don’t see myself getting a steel bumper again.

    Bah. Feeling defeated.

That sucks man. Anymore I drive like everyone is going to do their best to cause an accident, cause some of them might as well be.

Absolutely. I should have anticipated that and that’s 100% on me, but he could have been a decent human and stopped. I have accepted I’m going to be learning about accident forgiveness. I’ll fight it, point out the lane divider placement, etc etc, but I don’t see how I don’t get 100% of the blame.

If you can't find what you are looking for, let me know. Thought I'm reluctant to let my OEM stuff go, if you're in a hurt for it, we can work something out.

Will do. I have a body shop I really like working with, so I'm going to swing through there tomorrow and see what they have to say. They're quite good about pushing to use all OEM parts, so we will see what they say. Luckily all the metal panels are untouched as are my headlights and fog lights. One bezel might have a scratch, but I haven't investigated further. The Pro grille has gone down by $200 since I bought it in 2016, so if I have to spring for it, I will.

I'm going to see if they need to blend the fenders / hood. If they do I'm tempted to throw on a scooped hood to retail therapy myself, but their paint guy is pretty unreal, so I wouldn't be shocked if they don't touch the metal. I just need to get the lower bezel attached the truck somehow so I don't get cited for a plate violation. It sheared off when I got hit.

I love my new truck but miss my Tacoma

So my inspection was supposed to be on Wednesday but the body shop called me saying they didn't have anything for me to drive for the day. Well, I've got to work so that didn't happen! I rescheduled it and will keep you guys updated.

BTW, thanks Taunton Jason (I quoted 2 Jason's). I'll keep you updated
