Look, I'm not picking on you specifically okay?
Things like this topic are simply common sense. There should not have to be a video on oil filling on Youtube.
If you have a dipstick, it has a low and a full line. You keep the oil between those marks right? Toyota tells you to do this.
It then stands to reason that bad things will happen if you A) underfill or B) overfill.
If it didn't somehow cause problems, they would just let you fill it like a glass right up to the tip top of the fill tube right?
    Its common sense.

Again, not picking on you. I know you are trying to help and, unfortunately, you probably are helping some of these guys. I really think there is a large group of people today that need to search for a "Learn Common Sense" video on YouTube and work from there.

hang on now, remember people are dumb now, back in the day the manuals use to show how to adjust valves, top up the battery, how to check brakes and tires etc... now my dash has a blinking light to tell me that my tires are low instead of me looking at it before leaving town. or a MAINT REQ light on the dash to tell me my oil is due to be changed. basic maintenance is not common since these days. heck, ive met people who cant even back up without a camera

    minor tweaks
Many years ago (early 80s) I worked at a VW dealer, one of the mechanics was doing a first service on a diesel rabbit. He thought he'd already drained out the old oil, he added the correct amount of new oil and continued the service. As he was done he fired it up and immediately the motor revved to the moon, easily into redline, we were kinda surprised it didn't come apart. As it's screaming, he shut the key off which just kills the fuel in those early diesels, it didn't miss a beat. The extra 4 qts of oil was being pumped up through the crankcase breather like a high volume auxiliary fuel line. It was still on the lift with the wheels about a 6" off the ground, he forced into a gear then stood on the brake and let the clutch out to get it shut it down. It emptied out the customer waiting room with the noise, they all became spectators behind the glass at the service writer area, the entire 12 bay service department at the dealer smelled of brakes and clutch.

I do all the maintenance on my tacoma, I check the oil level every other week. I did post the video for people that are learning. Is better to add a little extra oil than less.

The high to low marks are 1.5 quarts. Add six and move on with your life.

I always aim to get my oil level in the middle, right between high and low, but, if given a choice, I would go for less.

Possibly but it was all buttoned up, hood closed. The rest of use were seriously thinking it was going to come apart. I don't know if it would have revved that high standing on the gas pedal in neutral when it had the normal amount of oil, it was pretty crazy.

I figured. What’s that a little 1.4 liter? Just screaming away. In the time of no cats on a diesel. Black smoke or what?
