All of my cats LOVE having that done!!! Not quite that hard but very close. Don’t even remember where and why we started doing that. Had to have been something we did even before these current cats.

 

apple boxes work great. They are very solid and as a plus, they have little peep/paw holes.

Tapping my older cat on his hind quarters starts him purring almost immediately, the same cat that lives to be brushed.

This guy gave us a little scare over the last week. He had a pancreas issue a few years back that revisited him. Painful belly and (obviously) no appetite. We gave him some pain pills and up ended his hiding spot so he couldn't hide and give up. Gave him some of the broths from Purina for the liquid and it sparked his appetite. Couple days later he's a little skinnier but back to his old self. Sampson, about 15 years-old.

Now that Henry is gone, he's left behind a lot of unused medication. Most of it is cheap and not worth saving, but a couple of them are. We have three unopened bottles, and a nearly full opened bottle of Vetmedin (pimobendan) 1.25 mg tablets. We also have a freshly opened bottle of RenaPlus (potassium gluconate) 468 mg tablets. I have tried to give them to local shelters, but haven't heard back or have been told they can't accept medication donations. These two drugs are either expensive or occasionally hard to find, so I want to get them to someone who's cat could use them. If your cat is on either of these meds, PM me and we'll work out getting them to you. We adopted Henry and his brother Arthur from this no-kill shelter 13 years ago, and I know they could use the help.

Any successful tips for keeping your cats out of plants?

 

I had to get rid of the plants, and my cat saves me a bunch of money on flowers for the wife as well LOL. If they are in the house she goes after them. She also likes lettus, so when it is salad time around house she goes nuts. My Sabra who just passed had some sort of magical power. Whenever I was going to have cereal, I could not get it in the bowl fast enough and she was on me for the the lactose free milk.
