Well, many don’t read the manual. And quite a few really just don’t pay attention to details.

Here in VT we use maple syrup!
    Fancy grade of course.
I can put my pancakes under the truck and let the timing chain cover drip on them when I get to work.

In theses days where we have smartphones but dumb people never assume anything is common Knowledge or common sense. Both seem to be lacking these days. A lot of the general public has been stupid for decades. Example: In the early 80's A&W Restaurants wanted to go up against McD's 1/4 pound burger. A&W made an ad campaign for their 1/3 pound burger. The ad campaign was a failure because many in the general public thought a 1/4 pound was bigger than a 1/3 pound.

That said I don't think over filling the oil by a few ounces is a big deal, it's sometimes hard to be super precise when you buy by oil in 5 qt jugs by pouring and looking at the lines on the jug. Now a quart too much or several quarts overfilled is definitely very bad. that's why I got an oil measuring pitcher off Amazon.

Two things I would've like to seen in this video.
    1. A clear valve cover. To see that foamed oil on the valve train.
    2. Running the engine with low oil.

Yep decades ago when I was in the auto bussiness we saw a lot of run away diesels running on crankcase oil! Not a pretty sight often involved picking up engine parts on the shop floor!

First time oil changer here. Coming up on my first 500 miles and need to change my oil (based on another thread here)

the question I have is, do I have to turn the motor to the side or upside down like the pressure washer to change it?

Will one of these work? Any brand recommendations?

Yeah moving pictures are scary anyways. Like, why can't they stay still like the pictures on my grandma's wall. And every time I watch youtube I hear voices. I HEAR VOICES!! COMING FROM THE MOVING PICTURES!!! :annoyed::annoyed:

Sometimes I even see and hear what I need to know *shudder*

For the last 23 years I've run an extra qt of oil in my Mustang (7 instead of 6). Never been an issue and likely won't be with most deep skirt engines unless its really overfilled.

Life was much simpler back in the day, and so were engines, and all appliances, even a 2x4 was a 2x4.

But I value having multiple folks showing me 'how' to do a 'thing' be it replace a safety guard on a miter saw or
change a fuel pump or disassemble a door handle to be replaced - lots to learn out there.
