Folks, it’s just a different pedagogy. You don’t sit patiently as a child on the stool next to dad as he explains how to keep the El Dorado running. You blow up your radiator or burn through unrotated tires in 10,000 miles, and then you learn at the granular level when you shell out. Or you watch more YouTube and share your data.
    Learning’s learning.

It's Friday so I will be nice. In fact, you are in for a treat! I am going to tell your future! Yay!

You seem like you are a handy YouTuber. You, a regular guy, go there to learn and be entertained right?
Know what you can't learn on YouTube? Failure. That one thing that has been driving innovation and progress for centuries. Up until 19 years ago, there was no YouTube "University." If you wanted to do something, you either A)Went to School to learn from actual real people or B)Found a book on the subject and learned it yourself or C)You did it wrong several times until you got it right!
Now, if you have an IQ of 70 you can go to Youtube and learn how to build a rocket, or, in this guy's case, learn what happens when you overfill oil. I am not denying that YouTube is a great tool. It is, but at what cost? If you only know how to do it like you learned on YouTube, what is going to drive future innovation? You? The path that I see coming is, the future is AI. AI will drive innovation and progress, not people who have learned the hard way.
And, maybe that's okay, because I doubt the newer generations could take care of themselves.

Example: I am putting on mudflaps tonight on my new Tundra. I am not going to use YouTube. There were no instructions in the box either. But I did just go to YouTube and... I stopped counting after 30 videos showing the same damn thing. Why are there 30+ videos on Tundra mudflap installation? Because people are trying to monetize their YouTube channel so they can quit working their day job. I am gonna quit after showing you this reality that is going to bite you in the ass graphic:
    upload_2024-4-12_13-33-0.png
My demographic is lot even listed. Why? Because we learned how to do shit the hard way.
Now, this image came from a very reputable site on statistics. So why is it scary? 6% of YouTube users are male. 4% of YouTube users are female. What are the remaining 90%??? Is it getting so bad they cannot even get the numbers right? That is what's scary.

I saw one the other day and the guy starts out with " And the ignition switch sends a message to the battery to send power to....."

That was as far as I got.

    So a question....
Do you really need a video on how to do any of your examples shown above? Why can't you just look at the door handle and figure it out? Genuinely curious, because that is truly how you learn, by doing. Maybe you make a mistake and have to fix it. You learned how to NOT do it. I am just wondering wat the advantage is, besides not making a mistake.

Oh believe me my friend, the amount of times I've failed to replicate what I've seen on youtube for car and home repairs is to many to count. But hey, I have an IQ of 69, so maybe that's why o_O;)

Cutting out a side section of an engine block and creating a window i found interesting.
tells me that if my dip stick i a smidgen past the full mark no big deal, which it won't ever get there.
surprised Power Nation TV has never done this just to show what is gong on in the motor.
    IMO.

Don't tempt me, I'll go trade in my taco for a late model camel. Slap a TRD emblem on it's side and maybe some raptor lights and I'd be all set.

No, people are making you dumb man. We also have to evolve with society, I agree. However, some things are not "evolving" they are just stupid shit that people want to make money doing.

And I can also agree with what you said about people making money off of videos . And I salute them for attempting to get an easy money bag.It would be asinine not to use the tools and resources available
