Nope no lack of inventory I was at crown Toyota in SoCal yesterday they had over 15 tacos in their lot I counted (could be more in the back) 5 were trd off roads sales guys said no one is really coming in for them or can’t afford them if they want them. Longo Toyota which is the biggest dealer in SoCal if not the us has over 180 tacos on their lot right now

 

Everyone snapping up the last of the 3rd gen's instead? Used market is still high.

 

My truck is worth more today than a year ago, when it seemed the market would never go back.
That 4Runner TRD Pro is still looking at me funny to come buy it.

That’s good to hear if you’re in the market for one. The deals will probably show up pretty soon. As someone looking to buy a 4th gen I’m gonna wait it out and see what happens with pricing because here in the IE I’d be looking at 53-54K out the door and I just don’t think it’s worth that much

In my city, it's 10% tax.

 

Not here, no tax savings on trading which is bullshit but comes in handy if I actually wanted to get something new.

 

Saw a Toyota commercial for the Tacoma this evening. They literally advertised that thousands are in stock. So far I only saw two 4th gens on the road. Seems it’s a safe bet that discounts are coming sooner then later. Eventually they’re going to have to start moving these trucks.

 

Proximity to Mexico is for sure skewing your perception of inventory. I have 5 dealers within 30 min of me in NJ and there is 1 SR5 on lots.

These trucks are still not in stock across America. There have been almost no Tacomas available the past 2 months because of the quality inspection hold and bottleneck it created after. At least that's been my observation from Internet sources and speaking with lots of dealers.

But I would be very happy if Toyota sees low sales numbers regardless of reason and offers some more incentives.

 

I agree. I looked one over in Helena, MT a few weeks ago. It was sold and was the only one on the lot.
