March 2024, 8,310 Tacoma's sold. 18.6K in 2023

I bought my 2016 OR for $36,000. That's $47,500 in today's dollars. I'll end up paying around $42-44,000 for the OR I'm looking at.

It's inflation.

 

Ford's compact truck vs Toyota mid size is not a very logical comparison for prices.

 

I'm holding out for the new 4Runner. Preferably a TRD OR premium, Trail Hunter or Pro trim.

The new Tacoma doesn't really do anything for me and the back seat is useless.

 

They had to change an entire line to accommodate a new product and then validate it. No shit sales are lower, it just got to market

 

It appears the second row in the 2025 4runner has been moved up.

 

Yeah I wasn't thrilled about that.

Honestly I don’t think I’d ever say this but if I had to get a new truck today I’d get the new tundra over the taco (if I absolutely had no choice) the new taco just looks small and cheaply built might as well get the tundra with the v6

 

That site says 8310 for Q1 but, 8310 is just march.

I’ve been checking my local Toyota dealer’s website and lot and only just today did they post photos of the first 2024 models actually on their lot. They had shown “in transit” up until now. Hard to sell as many as this time last year when they aren’t there to sell yet…

Yes just using March's data since the 24' taco was slow to get out to dealer's lots.

 

Have you sat in one yet? The seats are painfully uncomfortable. It's like sitting on a piece of plywood or a medieval torture device. They drive like pontoon boats too.

 

I have not yet LMAO… I mean how worse can it be than my leather seats though lol

 

I hope the Tacomas are sitting at dealers everywhere soon.

kinda feeling this way too - definitely would cross shop the Tundra.

 

Well, give a try when you have some time. Toyota couldn't pay me to drive a vehicle with seats like that.

 

Yawn. Trouble ramping up production for an all-new gen. This happens with virtually every other automaker bringing a new model to produciton.

 

I'm pretty critical of the new 4th gen but you can't take the sales number seriously yet. Some dealers don't even have any on the lot yet and if they do, there's only a few.

I'm sure many potential buyers are waiting for more inventory to arrive.
