2uz swap? Thoughts, ideas, warnings?

    Was planning on swapping an LS into my beater taco since the motor has run out of compression, then I found a wrecked v8 4runner local.

    From what I can tell it looks like I can pull my 1gr, swap bell housings on my trans and drop the 2uz in with the wiring harness from the 4runner and that should be plug and play.

    Does anyone know if toyota welded the motor mounts in a physically different location between v6 and v8 4runners?

    Probably gonna go pick up the 4 runner soon.

    2UZ is that V8 in 4th gen runner, 4.7L?

    Theres a good long YouTube video series on putting that in a Tacoma I think the truck may have even been manual 4x4
    Each vid was like 30min so hopefully enough explanation on how to do it.

    Which I assume would work as both vehicles likely offered the same trans, and both vehicles came with ability of 4x4

    That one was a 4cyl manual, im hoping keeping it auto and similar platform will make it easy

    Thank you so much I've never used Google before.

    Or maybe there's been a number of people ask but nobody seems to follow thru with any level of research into it because there's zero solid information on it.
