This typical for the weight? (TSB ? w/ pics)

So, I've read a ton, searched for something w/ pics, and didn't find anything (could've missed something).

Just put some weight in the bed today and drove around w/ my bike, which is one of the reasons I bought this truck so it'll be happening a lot. Do these pics look typical for just over 500lbs on a non-TSB 2011?

That doesn't look right, especially if you're not even pushing max payload...

 

Its right with the stock 3 leafs. Get the TSB

Yup, when I take the Triumph to Vegas/Nebraska/MA/etc she'll be put in the back. Doesn't have the biggest tank for a long haul. Am still thinking about taking a month off and riding her cross-country, though.

 

Yup, completely normal with the OEM springs, just add another 200lbs and you can enjoy the bumpstops.... I have the exact same truck FWIW and after Toyota replaced the rear springs I'm able to actually haul two dirtbikes w/gear safely. The ride is a little firmer but after adding the Bilstein 5100's to both ends and Eibach springs up front I'm pretty happy with the results. The factory Bilsteins are valved pretty firm on rebound IMO.

 

Your dealership might not have the leaf springs and new u-bolts in stock. So you might need to re-shedule for them to install them and do the free alignment included with the TSB. Plan on waiting a little while on install day, some people take longer to install things. Hopefully you can get it done ASAP.

 

Cool. Brought the truck in this morning, and while I offered to show pictures they said they didn't need them (probably BECAUSE I had them). After warning me I would no longer have a soft ride, they ordered the parts (you were right, TDT), and it should be done by Monday - hopefully. I came from a Wrangler, so "soft ride" isn't in my lexicon. I just want my truck to perform like it's supposed to.

MikeTV - what're your Bily's set at height-wise? I'm stock Bilsteins right now, don't mind a rake, want some 5100's, and think 1.75" is good enough for me. Actually, you're probably at 3" w/ the Eibachs, right? How's your truck stand unloaded? How about w/ the bikes? I guess this is a question for anyone, really...

 

I have the front's set @ 0" with the Eibach springs and with the updated rear springs the truck sits with a slight rake (good IMO). I think it lifted the entire truck about 1.5" all the way around after it was all said and done. When loaded with two bikes, gear, ect,(650-700lbs) the truck sits level/tad nose high. I added 265/75 tires and I drove it for a week after the rear springs were changed and got tired of feeling like I was pointing downhill all the time when unloaded, loaded was fine. Adding the front springs and the 5100's all around really changed the truck for the better, it feels solid and controlled on and off road. It's a good upgrade and I really wonder why Toyota U.S. didn't do it or at least offer it as an option.
