I assumed he was going to use hangers but the half lap posts and the alternating 6x6 (looks more like 8x8, actually) and 4x4 has me scratching my head a bit.

I'm positive he has a plan and it will all work out.

Ye...ah. so our back door is 46.5" from ground level. Rather than bury the post i put posts on top concrete sonotube. Still needed 12'+ to clear 8' under the pergola. So used 14' 6x6's and cut them down level with top 2x6. That was sketchy standing them up... but we did it.

When you’ve had a bad week, have a Brat! Just because they are so tasty.

That's good, good looking brat. If I'm turning the grill on, I'm cooking more than one brat though. The ole effort vs return. I'm probably cooking 6 brats and eating 2 or 3 of them sumbucks. Good for you for being able to resist...

Not a problem, buddy. A little water or basically anything to drink would be nice next time. I had to drink from your crazy neighbor lady's outside faucet and she was acting like she wasn't too keen on it. o_O
Your wife may need to have a talk with her....

Make it to Missouri and I'll walk the rest of the way with you, I could use the exercise.

Had a busy day, weeded, raked, mowed, seeded, watered, washed the wife's car. Even took the chevelle out for a drive. A good day. Hopefully the clover grass takes

Mom lived South of Charlotte in a small bean field in Monroe NC for 40 years. I loved the Smokey’s. Stayed in Asheville a couple nights. That place was magical
